Me too.wonder if the Romans had discussions like this before their fall? Or if they just sang Humpty Dumpty.
Marie, I can only speak for what history is taught or not taught here in Florida. Teachers and school officials don't select textbooks, politicians do. Believe me that our students are NOT taught "... how bad the European's are who created this nation and how to hate their own guts if they are white." And guess what is NOT allowed to be taught in Florida.
Well thats unusual since their teachers are in university's all over the nation. Not to speak of the hoods in Hollyhood throwing up movies full of agendas. No more do you see any America praised for it's greatness anymore. Its all about agendas or someone we abused now. I find a good movie now and then though. Or at least one that isn't irritating.
Thats good it would be a shame to see them celebrating their own demise. Only Americans do that, We got fat and lazy not enough suffering by this generation to survive, imo.
I slogged through Gregory of Tours "History of the Franks," written in the sixth century. I came away with the thought that the Romans and many of the Franks didn't realize that the Roman Empire was no more for a century after it was no more. Do we realize that the US position in the world is not what it was in the decades after WW2?
Wasn't it the Norse or northern tribes that sacked Rome once it became weakend by non assimilating immigrants and complacent spoiled citizenry?
