This is so true. I use to take my ex MIL to senior class and it was amazing the change that came over her. Even those in wheel chairs exercised at the center. The senior bus would pick them up back then.
I never ate dessert as an adult. EVER!!! I pick up (and drop) habits pretty easily. When I moved here I started buying the local grocery store's brand of ice cream chock-full of whole black cherries. Then I started keeping a second half gallon of a different flavor so I could change up. I had a problem with portion control, so I switched to fudgesicles and limit myself to one after dinner. I've not had cookies since before Thanksgiving and I won't replenish the supply...I've been eating chocolate covered almonds instead. I also took a hike on my property this morning. We'll see how long this lasts.
The oldest living vet said but butter pecan, lol. click to 7:28 in video to hear it I think most thing in moderation and genes or luck of the draw really.
My medical people were here yesterday, drawing blood, getting my medicine ready to take in these weekly plastic bins for the next month, checking all my vital signs, and they weighed me. 168 pounds. Losing a little. If you held a gun on me and told me to raise, I’d have to refuse; my pants would fall down.
