Yes, but Yavonne told the OP that Ken was on vacation, so I would take that to mean he can't do anything right now about answering her.

As far as any of us leaving, guess that really doesn't matter to you. Sounds like "attitude" to me, but that's ok. Care, don't care or "whatever".

Some folks, young and old, just seem to have a lot, or at lease, some, embedded anger in them. For Seniors, it could very well be "I just can't do, or live, the way I use to and that really pi**es me off" type of thing.

My step-dad swore and my step-mom totally disliked it. He would use the Lord's name in vain in the parking lot at church, after church, over something. To me, that's insane!

How about this, why don't one of you folks, that isn't bothered by swearing at all, start an "open/whatever goes" type forum somewhere? Then you could use all of the language you choose and it would be quite ok.

It doesn't matter to me because it's childish behavior with one goal; "attention seeking." Besides, you always come back so what's the big deal.

It’s okay @Cody Fousnaugh . Ken is traveling, and having connection issues at present, but he IS still checking in with the forum, and has looked at this thread.
He has said many times before that this is a discussion forum, and does not want objectionable profanity or pictures posted. He made an exception for Craig Swanson because he posted rude jokes, and Ken allowed him one thread for that.
People can read that in the title and those of us who do not enjoy crude and rude jokes simply avoid that thread.

Profanity is not going to be part of this forum any more than it has ever been, and no one is going to have to leave the forum. As always, report any posts that are rude, offensive, or a personal attack, and Ken will receive the report and deal with it.

I like that idea for an un-moderated free for all where anything goes. It would be interesting to see the outcome.

I think profanity is just a lazy man's way to make a point instead of putting forth a little effort to be more eloquent. It doesn't have to be fancy.
My statement did not apply to women especially in Texas where six guns are the norm. :p

No worries, it was a question, not a declaration of intentions, lol. I'm happy with the status quo.

I have a strong Scottish/Irish background and, well, believe me, they curse a lot, especially the Irish. It isn't a matter of not being able to find a different word in lieu of a curse word, and and it's certainly not meant to be offensive.

Here is an interesting read, if you're curious about this Irish trait: http://atriptoireland.com/2013/09/06/why-do-the-irish-swear-so-much/

I am probably not going to be around much this month, but it has nothing to do with this conversation, it is simply that I rarely spend much time online in December (things to do, places to go, people to see).

So, f I don't see you beforehand, Merry Christmas to all (and to all a good night).

I admire Ken for not turning on profanity filters. I was on a fitness forum that had strict filters and it made many posts more offensive in my opinion and others juvenile and ludicrous. Example: They even had the word ass replaced with "kitten." I had much rather as a woman have someone threaten to kick me in the ass than kick me in the kitten.

I have seen very few instances of profanity used on this forum that were intentionally unnecessary and meant to be shocking or offensive.

My mom considered the word gosh, heck, darn, etc, just as sinful as the words they replaced. She even didn't allow the word butt. I had to use the word seat. What is considered profanity by some, isn't by others. I find many words considered profanity by some very useful in adding understanding to a story.

So a big oil fire was burning and the top boss called Big Ralph in Chicago. He quoted 300k and 30-day wait so the boss called the Jones Bros. that quoted $30k and 30 days wait. Both were too much and too long so as a last resort he called Hillybilly Bubs from the backwoods south of Texarkana. Hillybilly quotes $3k and 3 days.

On the third day the boss thinking he had been stood up, spotted an old 1950s rusty pickup racing toward him and the fire. He jumped aside as the old racing pickup pulled out and stopped in the fire. The hillbillies in the back ripped their shirts off and beat the fire out.

The boss told Billy that was the most impressive thing he had ever seen. He also told Billy that $3k was a lot of money for a hillbilly Texan and wondered what he would spend all that money on.

Billy replied, "Well I tell you ... the very first thing I will do ... is I will get brakes on that damn pickup."

Now let's omit the word damn and the entire joke falls flat.
