I’ve asked him about how he could swear like a trooper at work and not at home ,he said he respects me and knows I’ve never used such words so he doesn’t swear Our neighbours swear like troopers both the husband and wife and their 2 sons who both work in the education departments so I guess they don’t use foul language at work @John Brunner
I very briefly got involved with a now defunct site called “Lemon Sauced” where they did indeed allow anything and everything except personal attacks. The thing is, just about everyone acted like they were a bunch of teenage kids experimenting with profanity and anatomical slangs. I could almost envision the simpletons standing behind the school taking their turns and seeing who could talk the dirtiest whilst hacking away at the cigarettes they stole from mom and dad. It was totally idiotic. It is as I wrote, an extremely brief thing of perhaps 3 hours in all and if I wasn’t getting a small stipend to write for the owner of the site I wouldn’t have been there at all.
i grew up with a father that cussed everything... i just pop in here to see how everyone is...maybe chat a little... i have no interest in hearing it....or reading it... people have said...well you can leave... yes....anyone can decide ...what they are going to do
Our neighbours first grandchild was born 6 months ago and I know what his first words are going to be C …..and I don’t mean cookies F …and I don't mean Filthy flies However there must be plenty of that sort of language come out of the mouths of young kids when they start school or kindy as I’ve heard mothers scream at very young children using words that make me feel uneasy and leave the shop. I recently seen a mother slap and kick a child in Woolworths while screaming profanity at the prob 6 years old No one interfered / or wants to be involved in stopping such behaviour incase they get the same treatment . I was tempted to phone the police as I’m a registered mandated reporter , but I thought nah …cause what punishment would the mother get …a slap in the wrist. Our neighbours son ( the father of the baby ) job is working with abused / uncontrollable/ disturbed children in the education system ( school ) Mandated reporter I obtained my training while studying updating my qualifications in disability work while I was still working . ****** A mandated notifier is required by law to notify the Department for Child Protection if they suspect on reasonable grounds that a child or young person is, or may be, at risk of harm. This obligation arises when a mandated notifier forms this suspicion in the course of their employment (whether paid or voluntary).
I have to be extremely annoyed to swear. This often happens on the Garden State Parkway or the NJ Turnpike (I-95).
There was zero foul language or swearing at home when I grew up. Of course I learned all the words at school. And I spent my life working in tool shops where every other word was some sort of bomb; I used to frequent a lot of bars too. I guess my upbringing stuck to some degree, because I know when not to use bad language. Call me old school, but I don’t use foul words around women and am uncomfortable when I hear it.
I use craigslist quite a bit--farm and garden mostly. When I first discovered their politics section I thought it would be a place for discussion and debate--maybe a way to change minds. If you want to go to a foul mouthed free-for-all, go there. It is mostly a bunch of sophomoric morons who seem to be killing time at work. Ocassionally I interject an idea or reasonable thought with no response. But if people go in slinging cuss words--watch out!
