I don't know how I missed the intro section. My eyes are getting smaller each day, that said hello to all you members.
Hey, Thomas! Welcome to the forum. I live in the middle of Virginia. We moved to the northern part of the state in the early 60s when I was a kid, and I relocated to a more rural part in 2010. Enjoy yourself!
You must be in the Houston area, I still have a few cousins living in Galveston. The weather spared us again today, just a little rain and nothing else. Next week will be record warm temps all week and no cold. I can live with that, last winter I had 4 pipes freeze when we dropped to 14. I opened all the taps and turned off the water, shouldn't have turned off the water because the water in the pipes still cracked them. I remember living in OKC in my teens, I would wear a pair of ear muffs to walk to school and I would wet my hair to comb and by the time I got to school the muffs were frozen to my hair. It was like 4 below in those OKC winters. ;0( Thank you for the welcome and stay safe
I've been in Maine for the past 21 years, but have previously lived in North Carolina, Texas, California, Iowa, and Michigan, where I grew up. Welcome to the forum.
I wish I was in better health so I could make one last walk a bout. I am content and can accept what comes next, I do wish my younger Brother was still living I miss talking to him. I have one good friend still living in Nevada north of Vegas so I call every few weeks to stay in touch. Thanks for the welcome
Welcome to the forum Thomas. I also share wishing my health was better so I could travel. Your profile photo looks like from Vietnam. I lived near the gulf when I was 3 for a few months. Good choice for a last name.
@Thomas Stillhere - Welcome from North Central Texas, The family house was destroyed by hurricane Ike there on the gulf coast. You will enjoy SOC for sure
Next door in La. I once had lots and lots of family living here, only a handful are left. My immediate family are all in a little Baptist Church cemetery in Bayou Jack. I can remember lots of great times in the summers when my Aunt would drive to Houston and pick me up and bring me to her house for the summer. I'll have to post a few pictures from those early years.
No doubt, we older people all share something the younger people unfortunately do not have. Today it is very hard to find any forums that I would like, I have tried a long time and don't have the tolerance to stay at most. Thank you for the welcome
