People who did their homework knew for several days now that the Omicron variant of the coronavirus was much milder even than the Delta variant. Yet, after several days of horriblizing this new variant, now that the Great God Fauci has spoken on it, all of the news networks, including Fox, are ecstatic. What nonsense.

Now some of the data on the Omicron variant show that it is something of a combination of the Covid-19 and an old "common cold" corona virus that targets a different body site. That would make it more contagious but milder, as most of the world's population have had a "cold". Now the Big Pharm companies are touting boosters at 3 month intervals...or perhaps even 2 month intervals. Crazy. See below
Every so often, the news reports on a new milestone set by COVID, with the obvious intent of horrifying it, but since they don't start over each year as they did with the flu, and they don't subtract anyone who has recovered or was never sick, to begin with, of course, there are going to be new milestones. Now, we're supposed to panic over the Omicron variant, although it is seemingly not much more than the common cold, yet every case counts toward the dreaded COVID numbers. Every day, we grow a day older, and that's about the significance of these new milestones. How long will it take people to tire of this nonsense?

After saying that how do they know who has this virus because the test were never calibrated for this new virus.
I don't suppose it matters. Anyone who gets the sniffles will be said to have COVID, and the numbers will rise, and that's what it's all about anyhow. The numbers have been fictitious from the beginning and they ain't likely to strive for accuracy now that they've got at least half the country believing the unbelievable.
I am not vaccinated and I wear a mask only when there seems to be no way out of it and, even then, whenever possible, I'll wear one of the really skimpy ones I have that wouldn't keep a fly from getting through, let alone a virus, yet I haven't gotten COVID, although a big part of me wishes I would so that I could get that over with. True, I live in a small town where people tend to distance themselves by virtue of the fact that most people live in houses and there aren't very many places to congregate. However, since this nonsense began, I have traveled by plane to Philadelphia, drove a rental truck to Maryland, traveled by train and bus back to Maine. We've spent a week in a timeshare, eating in restaurants. And we've just returned from traveling to Washington, D.C., and Virginia, traveling by bus and train, mostly eating in restaurants. My wife has been in close contact with at least a couple of people who were later diagnosed with COVID. So far, nothing, and with the variants that are dominant now, I probably wouldn't notice if I got it, since I have had the normal number of colds during the past couple of years.
Well, folks, many, many things are now back to closing, cancelling and postponing. There are those that will say, "It's all America's fault", and to a point, it is. Broadway in NYC is looking like a ghost town, like it did before. Anyway, Merry Christmas, but, there will be those that will say "Bah-Humbug!" Not us though.
From the Rant thread: NFL games are getting rescheduled because their "95% Vaxxed" teams are being decimated by Vaxxed players testing positive. Two dozen vaccinated Browns players tested positive for COVID-19 this week. Other teams are having the same issue. The teams are bringing back the healthy Unvaxxed players that they benched when those players refused to get The Shot and have a swab shoved up their sinuses every single week. And now that dollars are on the line, the NFL is loosening the testing standards!!!! If you're Vaxxed, No Symptoms = No Test. So they implemented this stuff to filter out infected players for everyone's safety, and now that there are a large number of infected players, they're gonna stop testing!!!!! None of this have one damned thing to do with "science," "standards" or "safety." They continue to punish the healthy Unvaxxed even though both Vaxxed and Unvaxxed are equally contagious if infected!!! And all that the corrupt idiots in the media (and elsewhere) can whine about is that the healthy Unvaxxed players may infect the Vaxxed players (who are already infected, which is why the Unvaxxed are being brought back in the first place.) At this point the adults in the room just gotta ignore those who are hanging on to the stupidity, the lies, the rhetoric and the propaganda. There is such a dirth of honesty and adult intellect among some people that it cannot be remediated. The adults in the room will push back when and where required to protect ourselves. Other than that, Aggressive Stupid is not worth wasting our time on. Regarding the other stuff shutting down: none of it is because of viruses. Viruses have not decimated the work force. Viruses have not decimated the customer base. Viruses have not shut down anything...politicians have. Vaxxed does NOT mean getting the Booster! Unfortunately, many who could get the Booster, won't. This virus isn't going to go away, because way to many in America don't believe it's real. Many have died due to the virus, whether they had underlining problems or not. America is "sick and tired" of all of this, but can't do a thing to correct it/stop it. Now, that is just a fact!
