We're at a hotel around a couple of corners from the bus station in Portland, Maine, which will connect to Amtrak in Boston. However, we have to get up about 3:00 am.
Checking in from Boston AMTRAK station. We have a couple of hours layover. We're 1st class so we get to hang out in the 1st class lounge, where literally no one else is, so that's not bad.
Okay, we're here. The hotels is in Alexandria. It's not as nice as the Virginian Suites but it's okay. Tomorrow, I will be buying a Windows laptop.
We were having some trouble with the AC in our room, because it's hot here in Virginia, so they moved us to another room, and it's a welcome upgrade. It's a suite, with way more room and more comfortable furnishings. The other room was nice, except for the AC problem, but this is much better.
We'll be headed back tomorrow night and should be home by late Friday afternoon. I'm ready to go home.
Okay, we're packing up and will be on the train in a couple of hours or so. We will have Internet access on the train so I might pop up from time to time, although the last time I took a train in this direction, the Internet wasn't working. It should be, though. It worked fine on the way here.
Yeah, he has his own sleeper a couple of doors down. He's in bed, as is my wife. I'm in the bottom bunk but it's still a seat and table at this point. I think we're in New Jersey but I don't know for sure. We're not making many stops, and will not be getting out in New York, although it will probably stop there.
We got home about 5 pm. Ella and Bubba are fine but glad we're home. Ella loves our grandson, and won't leave him alone.
We aren't going out, to a Country-Western Nightclub/Steakhouse, that we've been to before (two local ones) or Golden Corral Buffet, until after the holidays. Was going to go to The Boot Grill last Friday night, but decided against it. No more traveling for us until next Spring/Summer, when we go back to Colorado Springs for Pro-Rodeo Hall of Fame Induction (Friday/Saturday) and to Black Hawk Casinos in the mountains. Looking forward to both.
I have just returned after an overnight trip to Scarborough and Kennebunk, and a very nice lunch with @Al Amoling. It was great seeing you, Al. Although we're in the same state, we're hundreds of miles away.
