As for the liberal intellect, I have found there often isn't much in the way of depth to either plunge or plumb. For example, whenever someone starts to lecture me about not wearing a mask, I ask them about the relative sizes of a covid particle/molecule as compared with that of an N95 mask. I have yet to get an answer from anyone so provoked. What I most often get are platitudes, deflections, denigration or some other tactic. Such folk might have been perfect patsies for people like Jim Jones, Joseph Goebbels, Saul Alinsky, David Koresh, etc. in that they must find it easier to follow rather than think.
There are so many identities all caught up in what people think they know, or more to the point, how holding certain opinions defines them in the public eye. I still maintain that there are lots of adherents who would follow just about anyone of any position if a safe place to belong were offered. Ignorance and Fear often go hand in hand.
That is the key, I think--What people think they know. When questioned on any point, the fact that they don't know much becomes obvious.
Rather than what people think they know, It is better to organize your ignorance, keep an open mind and always be remember that reality goes far beyond your perception.
I think the wisdom we gain when we realize we do not know everything...that "absolutes" aren't necessarily so...makes the resolute positioning of others horribly frightening. Lynch mobs are made of such stuff.

Just remember one thing, for those forum members that have some medical problems, when it comes to discussing the pros and cons of Covid 19, one of our members, Lon Tanner, got the Covid 19 and died from it. His daughter did inform the forum that her dad did have some unlining medical problems, but, the fact remains, he died from getting the Covid 19. Something that many of us should think about before calling this whole thing a scam.

The purpose is to get the count of cases as high as possible to scare those who are frightened even more. I think they want the U.S. to look bad on the international stage as an addition plus for "them".
