We are only advanced in handling acute issues, @Martin Alonzo. The American system does not handle "health" or chronic issues well at all.

There was a whole lot of money to be made, and a whole lot of power to be had, by making this the mess they made of it. Existing therapeutics would have made all of this unnecessary, and they especially didn't want the solution to be an existing, inexpensive, drug. They needed the panic.

All of the people , sick or not sick, have been driving in lines to get tested for the omicron variant, and the testing processors are overwhelmed.
My daughter was supposed to be flying back to the Netherlands yesterday, but she has to have a negative test (even though she is also vaccinated) in order to fly overseas.
She has to take the test 1-2 days ahead of when she is going to be flying, which she did. However, by Friday, the results were still not back, and she had to cancel her flight and get new tickets. She is still waiting for the results, and if they do not come soon, then she will have to start the whole process over again, since they have to be done so close to when you are flying.
She can get the little self-tests, but they are not accepted by the airlines, so until she can get tested and get the results back, she can’t fly back home to the Netherlands.

The whole thing is insane, and it's by design so that the headlines can scream "Record number of [asymptomatic-but-tested-positive] COVID cases!!!" There are ads on TV for local testing places: No experience necessary!!! I don't know if those are just folks to direct traffic or to shove long Q-Tips up the noses of strangers.

I feel so sorry for your daughter. Has she tried the airlines/airport? I do know they offer testing, but am uncertain if they have a fast-track testing source for these situations.

She said that she is rescheduling the plane ticket for Wednesday, and hopes to have a verified negative test result in time for that flight. I am hoping that this time, everything goes smoothly for her.

Let’s do some math, shall we? I’m going to list the number of deaths in the U.S. since 2009 and let’s see what we can find out.
    2009. 2,434,163
    2010. 2,468,435
    2011. 2,515,456
    2012. 2,543,279
    2013, 2,596,993
    2014. 2,626,418
    2015. 2,854,838
2016. 2,744,248 (only year with a drop from the previous year so far)
    2017. 2,813,503
    2018. 2,839,205
    2019. 2,845,793

Now, based on the mean graduation from 2009 to 2020 it should have been around 2,860,something but because of covid 19 it became
3,558,814.in 2020 even though only 378,000 deaths can be attributed to covid-19 in that same year which leaves around 310,000 unaccounted for.

I’ve already accounted for the trend in my number of 2,860,000 which would have been about right for 2020. So, what killed off the other 310,000 people?
Since 2.8 million Americans had taken the vaccine by the end of 2020, it wouldn’t be a stretch to ask if the jab didn’t have something to do with the huge upswing in deaths.

No one is reporting that in 2020, just about as many extra people died in that year from whatever as did those who reportedly died from Covid.

or, it could have been just a combination of suicides, drunk drivers and overdoses. Strange though.

Some amount of the increase is due to people intentionally being put into a state of fear to the extent they did not go in for needed medical treatment.

Getting your child injected is the most important thing you can do for yourself in 2022, according to the Hawaii Department of Health.

edit to add: This is Hawaii. I guarantee you there are way more bad health outcomes due to poor diet and lack of exercise than from children not being COVID-vaxxed. What a perverted thing to tell those people that they can punt those two things in deference to Pfizer.

There was was an ad on TV earlier tonight, a woman was talking something [yadda yadda, I'm only half paying attention] then she gets to "I'm a mother and a grandmother [I'm thinking ok, here it comes] and sure enough the next thing was "Get your child vaccinated for Covid 19." puke.gif

It's full-blown dystopia. Meanwhile, as we are being raped with fear and denial of care, Democrats are engaging in all sorts of destruction to rig the system so they are forever in power.

And it would seem that, with the exception of a few good people, the pubbies are quite content to live off the crumbs the dems give to them. Maybe that will change with the midterms but I wouldn't bet on it.

I don't think that all the new pibbies that get elected in mid=term will be like the ones there now.
