Well since Ken said we had to use a first and last name and I was going to put a picture of me as my Avatar...I might as well use my name too. Because if any of y'all mess with me...my Honey is going to jump all over y'all. LOL
The thing is Babs...that when I joined this forum the vast majority of people on here knew me from another forum as ''Holly''...so I signed up as that, but then of course I learned I had to have a last name too...so I chose the surname from my ex husband..
When I joined it was at the same time that Terry did and I couldn't think of a last name so he said use Page, so I did. Kind of a marriage proposal except he's already in a relationship with the lovely Lisa. I could be his sister, I guess....
I think I found out Ike's real name, but it hasn't gotten me anywhere....ok, looked further ... I found him on Facebook and I see no evidence of anything bad mentioned by anybody that is friends with him. I could send him a private message through Facebook but if he didn't reply to the email Ken sent, he probably won't reply to my message. Could be his internet is out/off. This was all public information so I'm not spying, I just had to do a little detective work which I love. Besides internet problems he could be in the hospital for some minor stuff, I didn't see anything major and I hope I'm right. @Holly Saunders , @Terry Page , @Sheldon Scott , @Ken Anderson @Arlene Richards @Yvonne Smith, @Ina I. Chrissy, can you tell when the last time Ike was active on Facebook? Can you go to one of his friend's or families Facebook page and ask them if he's okay?
I think that would be crossing the line into privacy issues that would be improper, @Lara Moss . We are given an option to use names that aren't ours here to avoid that very kind of issue. Trying on our own to see if we can find something out about a friend (such as checking a Facebook page) is one thing and fine, but asking a family member? That crosses a privacy line that I personally would never cross.
Huh? I thought Facebook was for the purpose of connecting friends and family…just a form of communication. This is not about a private investigation. It's about showing love and concern for Ike and the family. It's a simple question "I'm a friend of Ike's, is Ike okay?" It's not asking for his medical records, I hardly see that crossing the line. But maybe I don't understand Facebook. They offer an option to ask a question there don't they? And the person you ask has options to to choose to be public or private? And they can choose not to respond.
My point is (I suspect you know) that if my real name wouldn't be Mari North and you end up contacting my sister on Facebook, I probably wouldn't be real tickled. You don't have to agree, but if Ike wasn't using his real name here, I sure wouldn't contact his family. Many of us tried to find Ike. For our peace of mind.. and that's good. I'm glad Chrissy found him and his site seemed to indicate that all was well. It made me feel better. But don't you see contacting a family member as out of line since we're not supposed to know his identity?
