Until I replied to a post by Tom Locke I never searched my brother on google. I did that today and I'm really impressed how smart he is and how we can even be related lol. We very very close as children but life took us separate ways. We were only together at weddings or funerals and just recently since he moved to CT. I visited him from New Jersey. I'm not expecting you to watch the whole video because it's boring, just a glimpse of my brother who is so much smarter than me. http://www.newhaven.edu/library/Speakers/kolibal/
Wow, A really clever brother you have there @Chrissy Page , and a great accent..LOL...but I think you're selling yourself short, no-one who isn't smart themselves can produce kids who are smart enough to be qualified Dentists..
I'll be watching that, @Chrissy Page ... saw the first few minutes, and quite impressive with the knowledge there! @Holly Saunders ... this is what's so wonderful about different accents... I didn't notice any *at all* on Chrissy's brother! And I've been told I have an accent. Funny how that works. Do *you* have one, Holly?
He might have a slightly east coast, very slight English accent because he did live there for a few years and his wife is English and she definitely has one, though it's not as noticeable as it was when I first met her about 30 yrs ago.
yes I have a Scottish accent, but it's very slight, most people say I talk very posh with a soft Scottish lilt , ( I don't agree lol).
I have a very acute ear for accents @Chrissy Page and I couldn't detect any English accent in your brothers' voice at all..
Then it's East coast or could be southern, he lived in Mississippi for many years. Some people say I have a slight accent but I don't hear it. While other people say they don't think I have one.
Thanks Ruby, I am proud thats why I posted it. I knew he was smart but I never really even looked up his credentials or ever listened to him giving a lecture. He was the perpetual student though, he loved it and loves teaching. He's been to China in his summers off lecturing. He is very liberal though as you can imagine a professor being....God help me if I said I was voting for Trump.
Oh yeah, Chrissy I can imagine. My dear friend's hubby is a professor at UCONN, actually he just retired, and he's the same. He still does some research though. Don't ask on what, I never understand when he does tell me.
Thanks for that Chrissy, I didn't understand it of course I did notice some British English pronunciation but a pretty neutral accent to me. It's always interesting to see someone speaking, we get so much more from the experience than mere pictures.
I was surprised he was talking about computers, I didn't even know he knew anything about them. His field is physics and math. I'd love to find a vid of him teaching a class.
