And now it really begins.... Saudi Arabia, who reportedly refused Biden's calls when he was begging for more oil and support in sanctioning Russia, is now considering selling oil in Yuan instead of dollars. This will send shock through the oil markets in the U.S. like has never been seen. Although it still only under consideration, the skillful Biden team will probably send their chief negotiator, Kamala Harris, to address the situation. Commentators said that if this goes through, gasoline in the United States could rise to $15 a gallon, as well as everything plastic as well as fertilizer going through the roof. Pakistan, where a good deal of textile products are made, as well as India, where the majority of generic drugs are made, are all considering going to alternative forms of international payment to avoid being sanctioned by those controlling SWIFT. I think most of the nations never envisioned SWIFT being weaponized, but once it was, many nations are now choosing to find alternative payment systems to insulate themselves from the sanctions so they won't be victimized shoould the Western nations become upset with them.

    Seems to be planned.

Sasdly most don't know how to make fertilizer like they did before. We are getting too old to make a lot of compost now.

I try to teach kids grandkids how to be self sufficient but only a couple are interested., the world is getting nuts.

Our kids are fully conversant with being self-sufficient, but it is not possible for them, as most do not own enough land to make it so, but one can always be MORE self-sufficient.

One daughter and her husband just bought some land, She already has chickens in one of their backyards she got to take to the country when the house is built. They bought enough so family who wanted to could join them if things got bad.

That is kind of what we have, too. One son in Alaska married a woman whose parents have a homestead about 7 miles from us, so they would have a choice, although they are pretty well set themselves on their acre. Other two sons are less self sufficient, but they are welcome here should the need arise. My real fear is wildfire, as we have those every year, have been evacuated once, and would have to leave our food behind.

It is good to have someone close by for sure. Not sure if we will go to be with kids or not. Of course we are welcome but we also love our place here so time will tell if we have time that is.

Don't relocate if you don't have to do so.

I need to grab another pack of TP. My old cast iron septic line is brand-conscious. I gotta big ol' 24 pak of Charmin in the attic I can't use because of clogging issues.
