Must give a BIG "Thank You" to Beth for giving me this thread in the thread that I just done asking about it. If Ken or Yvonne want to delete my thread about the iRobot vacuumm, please do.

Yes I have 2; they are just alike. I bought one and liked it so much that I got another for the upstairs in my house. I could use one for both levels, but I didn't want to be carrying it up and down the stairs. I own this one, which is very highly rated... https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CNCB44L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have seen the models that wet mop as well as vacuum, and the ones that empty themselves. The mopping might be nice but I wonder how an electronic device would hold up in damp conditions over time. The models that empty themselves are interesting but I didn't want to spend more money than I had to.

I've seen it sitting in a Walmart. It's always parked in the same place and not running though, so I figured they probably ran it after the store closed.

It's still okay to reply to old threads, though.

And that's exactly what most people -including myself- do. I run the one in the living room after I go to bed and the one in the bedrooms right before I leave my home (shopping).

We are looking at two different iRobot ones on both Amazon and Best Buy. The iRobot 694 and the iRobot e5. The e5 cost some $50 more, but more perks to it. The e5 also, from what I've read, is more efficient than the 694 is. The Extended Warranties is much higher at Best Buy than at Amazon, but, I guess that means the Extended Warranty is better at Best Buy than Amazon. Best Buy has a 2 or 4 year extended warranty, which Amazon has a 2 or 3 year extended warranty to chose from.

Do you recommend one over the other? Also, did you get rid of your upright vacuum cleaner when you got the robot one? We have both an upright one and a rechargeable hand-held vacuum for the boat and vehicle. I don't see why we'd have to keep the upright one.

Oh, and I forgot, which ever one we get, we will name it either Mabel or Hazel. Hazel is from the old tv show about the maid. Mabel just seems like a nice name for a maid.

Well, our iRobot Roomba e5 came in yesterday. We are making this an early birthday present for me, although my birthday isn't until next month (June). Now I have to set it up and get the app on my iPhone to run it. We have decided to call it "Hazel". :D

Well, how did it go? I think y'all are going to enjoy it. My son and his wife got one recently and they are thrilled not to have to sweep up after kids and pets every day.

We let it run around our living room on Friday. Pretty amazed at how much stuff it picked up off of the area rug, but, after doing some research online about it, will still keep our upright vacuum. It's sort of funny seeing it run all over the place, hit something, back up and keep on going.

I registered it online this morning. We got the 3-yr. Extended Warranty on it. Also, bought a solid blue "skin" (cover) for it. I noticed, this morning, when I picked it up to look at the Serial Number (for registration), that my finger prints were on it along with some dust on the top. The "skin" cover was $30, but to keep it clean, worth the money.

Have to have it, and the Docking Station, in an open place where an outlet is located and enough space for it to go to the Station and dock.

I just give mine a swipe with a damp cloth when I empty the dust bin; keeps them nice and shiny. One of mine docks under a stool and the upstairs one docks in the "exercise" room where nobody ever goes. :D

I just got through running "Hazel" in our master bedroom. I run her about every couple of weeks, due to what we track in on our shoes. In the winter here, apt. maintenance puts a "salt-like" stuff on the sidewalks to melt the snow/ice and that stuff is easily tracked in. After "Hazel" does her thing, I then mop the floors with our Swiffer mop/mopping cloths.

After each room, I clean out the "catcher". I also bought extra brushes, rollers and filters for her, on Amazon.

Didn't want to start another thread, so...........
We do like our iRobot Roomba and now thinking very seriously about getting the mop version on Amazon. The one that is for small spaces, like in apartments and cost $179.
This morning, I ran our Roomba in master bedroom, hallway and kitchen, like I do every couple of weeks. After that, I got our Swiffer mop and a mopping cloth, like I've used since Christmas. By the time I mopped the master bedroom, hallway and kitchen, I was ZONKED! So, I asked my wife about this small white iRobot mop, that has some very excellent reviews. Could buy it for me for my birthday in June.

What I'm wondering about is, like I asked about the iRobot Roomba, has anybody here have the mop version of the Roomba? If yes, how do you like it?

No, I don't have the mop version but I have thought about getting one. I hate mopping and I'm supposed to avoid repetitive motion with my right arm, so I might have to seriously look at them. Let me know if you buy one.

@Cody Fousnaugh -- Cody, this video is interesting. Looks like the mop vac comes with disposable mop pads which could get expensive after a while, but there are washable, reusable pads available as a separate purchase.

Clark Howard always recommended not buying extended warranties. They are like life insurance--if you win, you lose:rolleyes:
I was told that Best Buy's extended warranties add to the sales person's pay. Probably why they are more.
I figure not to buy the added warranties. If the item does not last, I don't buy from that company anymore.
