Licensed Doctors and Surgeons tested hospital masks/ not wearing them/ over a period of four or five months. They concluded from the actual results that the best way to prevent contamination was/is/ to not wear a mask at all - in surgery or in public. Other studies reached the same conclusion. Studies of twenty six studies demonstrated the same results. More results of the harm in wearing masks comes out from all the history of masking as well as recent studies - all conclude not wearing a mask is best. Wearing a mask is both un-necessary and is harmful. So far still, as requested before , NO ONE has provided a study showing masks prevent or reduce infections or death. https://www.technocracy.news/masks-are-neither-effective-nor-safe-a-summary-of-the-science/ "Are masks effective at preventing transmission of respiratory pathogens? In this meta-analysis, face masks were found to have no detectable effect against transmission of viral infections. (1) It found: “Compared to no masks, there was no reduction of influenza-like illness cases or influenza for masks in the general population, nor in healthcare workers.”"
Jeff mask may snare a bug 'sometimes'. Of course I'm also busy snorting alcohol and inhaling cigarettes[ they say nicotine kills the little microbe devils] .
i totally agree. masks can be somewhat effective if worn properly but even just the slightest movement can cause unwanted exposure. there's also the need to cover the hair (eyebrows and facial too) because it traps airborne particles and bacteria which can transport pathogens that can compromise the precautions upon being disturbed. pictured here is a positive pressure respirator set up for hazmat but what i'm actually relying on is a transmucosal application of a propolis emulsion which also is impregnated in all my filters and n95 masks. it's also applied to the hair and outerwear.
Outta my way, y'all, I'm unstoppable in my P100 rig, even better than my N95 outfit...... Sadly, Janet refuses to be seen with me, in this getup, so it stays at home most of the time. (Sigh.......)
Conventional masks, even N95s, have not been shown to be\effective against a respiratory virus, although when properly fitted will help prevent bacterial transmission. Masks worn by the public are generally not fit-tested, so may have no benefit at all as @Alan Sidlo stated. When I was fit-tested, it was determined that a standard N95 provided no protection for me. I had to use a special mask. Men with facial hair generally had to wear an over-the head similar to those demonstrated in the previous posts. This was with N95. I have never been fit-tested for the 100 masks, but the folks at CDC don't wear them when dealing with viruses, so I would say the scientists at CDC don't have confidence that they would be protected by them.
"Masks Don’t Work: A Review of Science Relevant to COVID-19 Social ...rcreader.com› commentary › masks-dont-work-covid-a-review-of-science-relevant-to-covide-19-social-policy August 13, 2020 - There have been extensive randomized controlled trial (RCT) studies, and meta-analysis reviews of RCT studies, which all show that masks and respirators do not work to prevent respiratory influenza-like illnesses, or respiratory illnesses believed to be transmitted by droplets and aerosol ..." In fact, apparently every study done on infections and deaths proved conclusively that masks do not work to reduce infections or deaths. No one yet has produced any study proving masks do not cause harm.
