Al "identifies as" Daisy. Hopefully the flower and not Ms. Dukes.

I may have been as obtuse as Al.

He was answering my request in the post preceding his.

edit to add: I see My. Amoling has cleared things up.

Thank you all for welcoming me back to the Forum!

There was so much confusion involved in my listing the house for sale, in setting up an Estate-Sale auction, and dealing with escrow settlement misunderstandings. This was more confusing than usual because at 85, my short-term memory is increasingly susceptible to crashing!

I'm getting used to the routines around the Solstice Senior Apartment complex with all its people and activities, although things do not always go smoothly.

I haven't met anyone yet who would replace my departed wife of 27 years, but I'm keeping an eye open.

My Caregiver has been most helpful in guiding me through
financial and legal matters, such as dealing with wills, notarizing documents, moving large sums of money through different accounts, etc. I appreciate her help so much that I gave her my car when I decided to stop driving!

    That's all for now.....

So many changes in such a compressed time frame.

    You are a resilient dude.

Could someone please transfer my post out of the "I'm not sure where it goes" category to a more relevant category?

I forgot how to do this.....
    Thanks,
    Hal

Having helped friends when their spouse died, I can relate some to all the hassle it is and how confusing and downright frustrating it can be. Next year will require hiring a tax specialist to figure out how to best not be overtaxed. By this time next year, everything should be better and lower key. I can imagine the hardships your short-term memory has presented, but so great you have dependable and honest help. Keep checking in here. I am glad you have adjusted to assisted living and found a nice place.

I moved it to the personal diary area, @Harold Pollner , since it is basically a running commentary of your life changes, and we hope to be hearing more about life in the Assisted Living apartments now that you are getting settled in.

Welcome back. I know that when you move you are all tied up with your "to do" list so there is no time for everything else. Post some pics of your "digs".
