This issue is the crux of whether or not a woman has a 'right' to kill a child. My own view is that the mass of cells, fetus, baby, whatever you want to call it, is that it is not an 'it'. It is a 'who'.

I have progressed from atheism to agnosticism to a little faith. My athiistic opinion was that human beings are of value and that a fertilized egg was a human being and should not be killed, anymore that a one year old or twenty year old child should be killed - because they were inconvenient.

I fully believe that woman are equal or superior to men in most respects, excepting physical strength. The issue of abortion is an outlier, not an exception to that equality.

    Your opinions, please.

Something alive is not an inanimate object therefore it’s animate. Webster defines “animate” as:

    1. possessing or characterized by life
    2. full of life
    3. of or relating to animal life as opposed to plant life
    4. referring to a living thing

    https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/animate

So when does animation (life) begin? Anytime there is movement is a good indicator in my opinion.

I've answered this before. In a nutshell: If you compare the toddler and birth mortality rate of other countries to ours, we don't do so well. It seems like our "conservative" friends are more concerned about the unborn than the borne youngsters.

Taking better care of young children seems like a separate problem to be solved separately. I'd rather hear your views on abortion.

Cell division > movement > animate > life.

I don't think either sex is superior to the other, just different. Our brains are organized differently, our bodies are constructed differently...it only make sense that we would be different in other ways, but not better or worse.

I'm listening to NewsMax whom I suspect is controlled opposition. Women are testifying as to why getting an abortion let them pursue a successful life - going to college, working upwards as a company employee and suchlike. Another point being pushed is that many women get pregnant but aren't capable of being an adequate mother.

My response to both is that having the child and giving it up for adoption has nearly the same result as the convenience abortion, as far as each results in the woman being able to pursue a career or other important goal. I think some women prefer abortion to this because giving up a child implies a failure or some kind of inadequacy.

Another related point is that there are so many ways to avoid getting pregnant that getting pregnant has to seen as carelessness on the part of the woman. Someone said that this issue has been exhausted on this site, I hope I've added one or two different ways to view the issue.

I'll say again that, besides physical strength, I think women are at least equal and maybe superior to men in some respects. This should be reflected in law. I also respect a woman's right to the same sexual freedom that men expect for themselves.

No way you are a progressive leftist, Dwight, but you are confused as to the definition. I want to laugh, which is better than crying any day.
