National Napping Day is observed annually the day following the return of daylight saving time. National Napping Day provides everyone with the opportunity to have a nap and catch up on the hour of sleep they lost due to the spring forward time change. Mid-afternoon naps are an integral part of most cultures, and scientifically proven to be good for you. A needed nap can make you feel better and also improve your mood. After having the extra amount of sleep, a person will notice that they will be more productive and energetic. Numerous studies have shown that short 10-20 minute naps are the most effective when midday fatigue hits. Improvements in alertness, productivity and mood have all been shown to improve with this type of nap. Though there are some of us who are just not the napping kind, if you are able to reap those benefits, find a cozy spot for 10 minutes or so on National Napping Day. HISTORY William Anthony, Ph.D., a Boston University Professor and his wife, Camille Anthony, created National Napping Day in 1999 as an effort to spotlight the health benefits to catching up on quality sleep. “We chose this particular Monday because Americans are more ‘nap-ready’ than usual after losing an hour of sleep to daylight saving time,” Do you take naps? I never do, for some reason I can't fall asleep during the day no matter how sleepy I am.
Lol, Ruby, you're a step ahead of the game. You can take another one today, it can count towards next year.
I had a cute picture of Pickles laying on the carpet with his paws around a stuffed elephant and he was covered just like a baby would be covered with his blanket. The cute part was that he did it himself, I didn't pose him for the picture. I took the pic after I saw him. It might be on my old iphone.
Yes, lets see Pickles! Now I find this out about this napping day thing!!!! .. I've been on the go since 7AM today. Had spring break and Easter food shopping to do this morning. I do things early in the day as the heat really turns up after noon around here. Tomorrow will be worse ... babysitting, and library day with the girls. I plan on loading up with some good reading for a while.
Well, first it have to find the charger for my old iphone, then would have to take a pic of the pic on that phone. I may have all those photos backed up to my daughter's Mac but I'm not sure.
I'm the same Bonnie, have to get out early in Fresno and I'm a morning person anyway. Was wondering where you were today...also where's Karen?
I'm glad, even mentioned you and Karen to Terry earlier....I get used to seeing you on early and then if you're not around I miss you!
I think I sent that Pic to @Terry Page. Terry, it's the one where Pickles is on the carpet in front of the mirrored closet door, his paw around the toy elephant. I know you don't delete anything so I'm hoping you have it.
