I'm from Lancashire in the UK. I enjoy walking, crafting, and spending time with family. Looking forward to interacting here and making new forum friends.
Welcome to the forum, @Jessica Morgan ! We have other members here from England, and also some who had family from there. My former mother-in-law was from Lancashire, near Wigan, and my ex-husband was born there. I am one of the greeters on the forum, so if there is anything that I can help you with getting acquainted with how the forum works, just let me know and I will do my best to help out. If you click on your name at the top right of the page, a box with options will open, so you can set preferences and upload an avatar and stuff like that.
Howdy and a tip-o-the-hat ! Welcome to our little refuge away from home Jessica ! I do hope you’ll enjoy being here as much as we’ll enjoy having a new member in our community of seniors! Have fun…….!
Welcome from the state of Virginia, Jessica. My mother was from England...a WW2 bride. (And my dad's folks were from Germany.) Enjoy yourself here!
Welcome! Are you an early Baby Boomer or later one. The Generation lasted some 18 years. Wife and I are the "early" ones, being that I'm almost 73 and she is 74. Or, are you like my wife's sister, born before the Baby Boomer Generation?
I've been to Wigan many times, and especially the main railway station there when traveling around by train. I'm originally from Cornwall, so I do travel that way a lot as my family are still there.
Before? That's fine, so was my wife's sister. She is now 78 and was part of the Silent Generation. Cody is not my legal name, it's a nickname. I started using that name when I became involved in professional rodeo. Don't know about where you live, but in the U.S., a person can use a nickname instead of their legal first name. Everyone one I know, knows me by "Cody" and I like that. However, if a person wants to change their last name, they have to go before a court Judge to give the reason/reasons why. Only time a last name can be legally changed is within marriage.
Welcome, @Jessica Morgan! I am a little later on the comments since we are so far west. I hope you enjoy it here and stick around.
