My husband and I used to go C/W dancing before we were married. We never missed a dance to this one. "You're the Reason God Made Oklahoma"
Sounds like fun and brings back good memories too. We did that too plu8s we had barn dances that were "a hoot". Since its been all kinds of dance hubby and I won a few dance contest in a few strange palces doing the waltz, one was a biker bar of all places. Not many people doing the waltz in a biker bar but they liked it,lol. We just dropped in.
During the past decade wife and I go to a theater a very few times a year for some very special production. When she watches a recent movie on TV I usually go back to what I am reading at the time. One of the main things that turns me off on recent movies are the special effects. They, usually ridiculous, have little or nothing to do with the story, if indeed there is one.
I agree. Modern special effects are a substitute for substance, of which there is little these days. I've posted this before: This was when they knew how to act. She could be on stage alone with no sound whatsoever, and there is no doubt as to what she is conveying.
