Yup. I went to see a doctor, who worked with my first husband, for something (I can't remember what). He said, Well, you will either die from this or get better. I said, you know you have to be careful who you say that to. Right? He knew my sense of humor pretty well so not a problem for me. And I was cured!!! I am still here!
You do realize it is not 'magic', right, although like many other roots and herbs which have for thousands of years cured everything from epilepsy to ms to cancer and depression and bipoleR and so on , they are laughed at and dismissed by moneymakers because they cannot patent them.
Reminds me of a observation in Finland or Norway or somewhere , some small town, isolate fiord , where they got a shipment of some kind of fish every year around the same time/ autumn, and soon thereafter every year most of the people got sick with the flu or a cold or the like. Someone went and checked on them, and found that the people who did NOT eat the shipment that everyone else partook of did not get sick. ONLY the people who ate the food in the shipment, each year, repeating, got sick , for a while, and did not get sick the rest of the year. i.e. when the people realized this, and stopped eating the particular food, they did not git sick again - the sickness that had recurred every year stopped. Before that, they had all agreed and thought that it was the very cold weather . Now they , and others, know better.
How common is common sense though ? Not very. 95% Might be slightly high hope these days, but in the 1980's at some med and pharm schools they were teaching 90% of all clients seeing a doctor would get better if they just stayed home and did nothing. Doctors usually gave something , or often, because people expected something, regardless if it worked better than a placebo. Too often, protocol tx made things worse and ongoing and expensive, when doing less was better..
