“Most old white guys”? I do believe you need to seriously think about that statement. Now, as for the rest of your statement, I went to war, I had a chance to live through it and I did. A fetus about to be aborted has NO chance.
I see it all on this issue living in the woman's body that I live in. And old white ladies or ladies in general don't push the war buttons. I'd protect my son all I could from going to a war. Thanks.
Female rulers are MORE likely than men to go to war, reveals study of leaders spanning centuries US experts analysed mainly European kings & queens between 1480 to 1913 Covered 193 reigns in 18 countries Queens have been 39 percentage points more likely to declare war than kings Queens were more likely to gain territory (be expansionist) over the course of their reigns Link
No matter who starts a war nor what color or sex they are, wars have been going on since the beginning of time itself and until man and womankind world wide are willing to lay down the spear there is nothing that can be done about it. But…..unlike abortion which kills millions throughout this nation, those who are sent to war aren’t killed for the sake of “convenience” .
Joy Martin, See, all those who defend the fetuses should be mandated to make a monthly contribution to the government to cover the needs of all the "now babies placed for adoption"........instead of the entire nation providing for them (welfare). I guarantee you the number of pro-lifers will be reduced to 1% in less than two years.
We already do on a daily basis, not monthly, and at the same time we have to pay for the abortions. At least now, the Federal tax money isn’t going for abortions albeit the states that allow convenience abortions will be taxing their citizens now.
Joy Martin, I could tell you what it does to a child whose mother was forced to deliver him/her. ...is not a pleasant experience that in the case I know lasted even after the mother passed.
Tell the rest of the story Silvia as in……where, when and under what conditions was a mother Forced to deliver her child?
Although I can't agree with Silvia's view, I appreciate the fact that she's at least able to discuss the topic on hand. I must say that Joy's initial response of linking abortion with war is so irrational and irrelevant that it doesn't warrant a response. The thread really isn't prompting a debate on racism or war, but rather abortion - and not so much the pro vs anti basis, but the Supreme Court's handling of the matter. So far, no one's made a viable comment on the main point highlighted in bold. Since the Constitution does not address abortion at all, and the Court has now ruled (correctly) that there is no implied Constitutional right to abortion, should not the will of millions of people represented by their state leaders decide this controversial issue? Or would pro-abortionists like to argue that the flawed decision made by 7 men long ago should supercede the will of each states' constituents? THAT's the issue at hand now. Even if I did strongly support abortion, I'd be rational enough to understand and respect the recent ruling's basis and effect. I don't understand why both sides couldn't agree on this basic, American history point except to say that protesting, angry, pro-abortionists are letting their emotions overrule their intellect. Here's the new reality: Abortion is not a Constitutional right. Therefore, it's a state issue, not a federal issue. Therefore, the legislators and people of each state are free to determine their moral values on the matter. Any Constitutional freedom loving American really want to poo poo that? Might I suggest you'd do better saving your objections for the appropriate state battles to come.
By Any Means Necessary. If the court rules in their favor, it's settled law. If the court does not rule in their favor, they riot and continue to push back, and want to disband the court. I think the state's rights thing may have been discussed on the other thread on this topic. Actually, that is the largest issue in all of this. Are we finally on a path to reclaim our Republic??? Perhaps those on the bench have seen enough petulance.
And it's not for convenience, good grief, what is wrong with you guys??? Too bad you can't be raped or incested and forced to give birth.
Before trying to argue a point, do your homework first. 99.31% of abortions have been performed for convenience and not performed because of incest, rape or for health reasons.
