    Perhaps a lot of that might be due to the possibility that there isn’t anywhere to take an injured person because of the nearest hospital’s location.

    When I worked in Ekuk, if an injury took more than spit and a bandage, we’d have to call in a helicopter or plane to take them into Dillingham which is still about 30 minutes flying time away.
