Once again I notice that I start more topics than the average member and it's obvious (to me, at least) that I have no special insight or knowledge about anything at all. I'm a loudmouth and let's leave it there.

The evolution of language or slang about modern events is worth noting and would be hard to explain to a newcomer. The 'woke' includes those aligned with the upcoming power structure, with their designs for world government and the end of both nation states and personal freedom. The 'awakened', on the other hand, includes those who have come to know the value of what it means to be an American and, perhaps reluctantly, accept the burden that that implies.

Whether we like it or not, God has appointed us as his warriors in this last broad conflict between good and evil. I don't know why and I'm personally sure that it isn't because I, or we, have any superior merit. I no longer pray for understanding of things because I've come to see that as arrogance. Instead, I pray to be strong in the face of trouble. I feel I'm on the right track because I've left most of my fear behind. The bullies may confront me but they need to watch out because, win or lose, I'm going to fight with all I have. Knowing I'm on the right side makes all the difference.

Expressing such things still gives me pause because my faith ebbs and flows on a daily basis, but at the age of 70 l know I want to be involved in the battle. I feel that it's a good thing to be alive during what may be the last days. I'd ask you good folks if you think I'm crazy but the question is mostly rhetorical, since I'm going to continue following the dictums of my age-addled brain, in spite of contrary opinion. My fear is that I will surrender to that original arrogance that previously was my strongest sin and fall back into thinking I understand anything.

    Opinions?

If being “Woke” was as simple as the definition indicates, it wouldn’t be such a nuisance but as it stands, it means far more than just being aware of social injustices based on equality.

Just to have over 70 pronouns, some of which have only recently been added to the English language to pick from to describe one’s sexuality and gender is now an accepted method to show one’s individuality within a psychologically bankrupt society.
Matter of fact, as it is at the present time, it is socially acceptable for adults to turn their own perverse idealism toward the likes of children all in the name of being woke.

The “I’m okay, you’re okay” crowd seems to be winning and to what end is going to be a heavy ladened and grief filled part of history.

Good points. I meant to add that, to me at least, 'woke' implies a state of being that one has arrived at without process, as in being 'enlightened'. In contrast, 'awakened' seems to call for the human process of going from 'asleep' to 'awakened'. The difference is subtle and perhaps only in my own mind.
I don't know if my thoughts on this matter at all but that has never stopped me from expressing such stuff.:)

The majority of us were not included at one time or another. Outcasts? Some bullied for whatever reason? So, if you could find groups that were outcasts such as yourself, you would be outcast no more. Or so you might have thought. And with the internet, you can find any number of folks with the same problems or feelings as yourself. So you join and now you feel included and Strong! So you make noise. You get benefit from that too. But, eventually, you have to accept yourself for what you really are and you are not the same as anyone else. You will have to move on and grow up.
In the meantime, all the separate groups are pulling the country apart with distraction. They don't see what is actually going on.
I am glad you will fight, Dwight. I am getting a bit too old to really swing a pitch fork.;)

Seems your comments are well thought out and the subject matter is 'interesting'.
I'm sure most know I'm a very opinionated person at times to a fault.

This "woke" nonsense is just that, nonsense. No one can agree on who is who or what is what. Just get back to basics and keep it simple. Makes life so much easier for everyone.

Ralf Mannheim put a long youtube under the education is making kids stupid (?) which explains pretty well about how the powers that be don't want things simple. There is an actual effort to rip the fabric of society, not only in the US but, I think, around the world. The more distracted and divided we are the better for the World Economic Forum so they can reach their goals. Activists are saying save the earth and yet they don't see that they will not have what we have now in doing so the way the WEF wants to do it. I think we were starting to come together in the 70's on but then when Trump started disrupting the agenda and making it possible to have energy independence, racism and narcissism took over through the evolved education system to destroy what we could have had.

Mary, I agree with all of this and then some. I think this started long ago. First with Lincon then Rosevelt.
Slavery is an evil practice; no man should have to work in bondage for another man. But without getting into it too deep there was other ways to stop slavery without destroying the south and killing more Americans. Some of the founders tried to stop slavery and held back on the signing of the Constitution because of slavery, others wouldn't sign it without keeping slavery. Some realized at the time turning slaves loose without skills or education would be worse than keeping them enslaved at the time.

Of course, this isn't the subject, but it is basically the issue used in this 'WOKE 'division.

"Woke" has simply replaced "enlightened" in the vocabulary. It wasn't so long ago that we (reasonable people) were making fun of the enlightened ones, used as sarcasm, who believed everything they were told by the leftist media and educational system.

To use the term "woke" is merely pandering to the poorly educated kids, who sadly get away with that sort of truncated language. Why use a long word like enlightened when a silly 4 letter one can be substituted and understood?

Dunno but I hate both words but especially Woke. The connotations are so vast depending on whom it pertains to and which side of whatever aisle one is on.
I mean, the spectrum goes from someone who is genuinely observant of societal perils all the way to total blithering idiocy.
Enlightened can be almost as bad because one can enlighten someone else simply by offering up one’s opinion which could be quite erroneous…or not.
One should be enlightened by facts but nowadays most of it is toro poop.

We're getting changing definitions and made-up words to support the new worldview all the obedient slave minds are supposed to have. Orwell wrote about shifting the meanings of some words and eliminating others so that expressing forbidden thoughts was impossible. If you can't say it you can't think it.

    Wikipedia:

A cisgender (can be shortened to cis; sometimes cissexual) person has a gender identity that matches their sex assigned at birth. A person whose sex was assigned male at birth and identifies as a boy or a man, or someone whose sex was assigned female at birth and identifies as a girl or a woman, is considered cisgender.

Cisgender people may or may not conform to gender norms and stereotypes associated with their gender identity. A cisgender man may not necessarily exhibit all stereotypical masculine traits, and a cisgender woman may not necessarily exhibit all stereotypical feminine traits.

The word cisgender is the antonym of transgender. The prefix cis- is Latin and means 'on this side of'. The term cisgender was coined in 1994 and entered into dictionaries starting in 2015 as a result of changes in social discourse about gender.

What irritates me is the word "identify." I don't "identify" as anything; I'm a natural born FEMALE and don't need more made-up, annoying words to define myself.

I recently watched a Youtube video made by a couple of young black men; one of them claimed to "identify" as a white man. As you can imagine, it did not sit well with his family and friends because he is not white and they got angry while pointing that out to him. Of course the point of the video is that people can't simply "identify" as anything... you are what you are. It was a well-done and entertaining video but brought home the point that so many deluded people are missing.

"Identify as" = "Deny what I am"

The line that got crossed is demanding that we validate the lie...and it is a lie, not a genuine delusion.
