For last 4 days I've been going nuts with these no see em's. I've bathed in Sulfur lavender soap, left it on my skin lathered up and dressed. Used 2 tub es of Benadryl cream and soaked in Epsom Salts.

Now I won't even walk across the yard which is not good watching the vines grow.

Wakes me up at night with intense itch crapola! Seems the hot month of July-August is the perfect time for them to attack.

go out in the yard...look for plaintain...gather leaves...soak in water...crush...make a paste...the leaves squeeze out a thick substance...leave on the affected area....we used to use fingernail polish

Yup. You always hoped there would be some clear polish around. I think the idea was to cut off the oxygen, similar to coating a tick with it.

It would take a while to polish all these bites, I'm thinking maybe the sulfur soap lather is working,it just takes time for the itching to stop.

LOL me too, hats why lathering up and putting thin gown on wet soapy body didn't bother me in the least, when you're itching like that you'd dip in most whatever works to stop it.
I've used clear polish when the number of bites or bugs weren't so many. The Benadryl helps too.

We used to dust sulfur around the tops of our socks to keep them off. Don't have 'em here, so....

I always use a hydrocortisone anti-itch cream for itchies. I haven't had chiggers, though.

Good idea and I think we have sulfur. This is my second go round with them here for past 25 years. Once about 3 years ago and now.

You must not spend much time in the yard then because hubby got a does of them in N.Georgia and had a bad time too. He tried everything and I suggested Ben Gay., went from bad to worse, fire added to the itch.

Actually I spend quite a bit of time in my yard, just not in the woods. :D And I haven't been to N. GA in years.

@Yvonne Smith lives in Alabama. I live in Houston but I'm originally from south GA near Valdosta.
