    I wonder about this.

I've often listed (here and elsewhere) the many benefits to a well-managed immigration system and how it has made this country grow in every way imaginable (they are hungry, they have a sense of gratitude, they provide fresh competition so we do not get complacent.)

It seems that there are other upsides that may not accrue to the benefit of those who schemed to bring in the illegals: they are escaping the very things that The Left desires to install here, and they will not submit to corrupt authority...they know better.

John with all due respect I have to say I can see you've never dealt with them in numbers.I also realize it's not the people so to speak but the culture they come from which is not one of gratitude from most, it is an attitude of survival and conquest. A few are grateful but not many.
I've been dealing with these people for decades only ceased when I saw it was a losing battle and I got too old and sick to care.
In an organization I was part of trying to stop the illegal invasions not the legal. Very few are grateful or want to assimilate into our way of life. Those who do are ridiculed by the others.
Laraza is not just a catchphrase, they mean it. Do you think they want to lose their culture and religion? No they want to keep it. Who do you think is funding all these Catholic Churches and charities, there is more to it that most would ever realize unless they have been involved?

I believe they are Coming From corrupt authority and they want something they have never had. Not sure they understand the rules because there aren't any but survive as they can.
    I would.

There are a couple of major problems contributing to this. One, illegal immigration is bringing huge numbers of people into the country, and they are being given more help in finding homes than those who were born here. The illegals are coming because the border is open, and they know they'll be taken in. In my opinion, this is part of the same agenda as all the other crazy stuff that is going on, and intended to tear down the fabric of our country so that the global progressive elite can build it back to something more to their own liking.

The other problem is that well-funded organizations and people are buying up available housing stock in the country, taking it out of the market. This is done for the profit motive but funded because of the agenda.

I don't know any nation you could just illegally cross into, get on welfare, free healthcare, food and shelter but this one and some European and Scandinavian ones.At least some of the S nations are starting to wake up and the men are fighting the invasions.

A little UPDATE here: The Sheridan, Wyoming Chamber of Commerce sent us an e-mail asking us different questions, such as "where do you live now and why do you want to move?", "what are your hobbies/interests?" and "why Sheridan?"

I wrote them back and explained why we no longer want to live where we currently are, our interests (as in rodeo, livestock, stuff like that) and what the inside decor of our apartment looks like (as in us with rodeo champions, tv/movie western stars and old west famous cowboys/Indians.

They wrote back and told us that we fit into Sheridan perfectly as well as Cody. We'll see what happens. Perhaps a short vacation, rent a car and head for Sheridan for a few days. Have already been in Cody, so we already know what it's like there. Come back home and take our boat out on lake. But, whatever vacation we do, it has to be shortly due to winter setting in here towards the end of October.

A vacation in an area gives you a hint of lifestyle maybe, but living somewhere is a whole different thing. Buti understand how you feel.

We are being "victimized by the housing issues and the rising interest rates. A developer is building houses all around us and destring our little wilderness. Two houses are going up on the lake opposite us, and I saw a guy scoping out a lot that is for sale on our road. So far, the houses appear to be upscale vacation "cabins" but that could change.

When I went to our reunion near Laurelville, Ohio, I referred to the area as 'the middle of nowhere'. Narrow roads, amish vehicles, tiny burgs.
But this year a lot of construction going on. People were going there and saying, "How lovely and rural this place is. I want a house here." Not going to be lovely and rural for long.
I don't think the Amish will be safe. People driving like maniacs on those little country roads.

Of course, they love it long as they can pretend 'act like' to still live in the city. Living on dirt roads means hitting a bump now and then and washouts in rains. Here some think it means to drive on neighbor's frontage, destroy their grass, make more potholes and make it a 4 lane of ugly washed out what we use to call Tobacco Road when rural areas went to hell.
