Will Trump Run In 2024?

So now they’re saying that the FBI was looking, among other things, for Nuclear Weapons secrets at the Trump residency.

Allow me to get this right.
All the powers that be waited an entire 18 months to go grab those nuclear weapons secrets back from an x-President who probably didn’t have access to the need to know information to begin with.

It would seem to me that if Trump had access to all that kind of documentation that the FBI or Secret Service would have retrieved that information before he even left the White House instead of waiting for 18 months.

So far, the only thing to come of the "raid" is that the FBI's reputation is totally in the sewer. They are being called "gestapo" which doesn't seem too far from the truth. Sad for the dedicated and professional FBI agents if there are any left.

 

Yeah. It’s not as if their red flag program was paying off catching people before they started shooting up crowds.

And yes, I was thinking about the good guys this morning.
No one can tell me that every FBI agent was totally on board with the raid and to the FBI’s credit though, they get their marching orders from the Director of Intelligence and the AG.
And ya know, the Director of Intelligence is a Cabinet seat ergo his head is …..(drum roll)…..Joe Biden.

Of course, since no one in the chain of command knew anything about an upcoming raid on Trump’s property, Mr. Wray must have taken upon himself to order the hit. …(bull)

 

Yeah, lots of false information spreading on the internet, causing the lunatic fringe to call for killing of FBI agents. Mr. Trump has made a spectacle of this for fund-raising purposes, but he still doesn't seem to realize that it's dangerous in a population of 300 million people. There are always some loonies.

We are in another one of those "unprecedented" times (again).

Of course this could all have been over months ago, and no one would even remember it now, if the former guy would just turn over all the documents. But he seems to need constant attention.

Trump already handed over what the archives wanted way back in February.

Even so, lest we should forget, Hillary scrubbed 30K (provable) emails from a server that wasn’t even supposed to stored where it was. Yet….the then Director of the FBI just marked it off as being ignorant.

 

It seems they are investigating the person hoping to find a crime they can prosecute, while Congress conducts insider trading and Hillary and Hunter go on unscathed. Newt Gingrich said the tactics are more Soviet-style than Fascist, but are bad no matter what you call them. Victor Davis Hansen said both G.W. Bush and Obama did the same thing with documents; Bush issued an executive order before he left office allowing him to do so, and Obama simply said "No" when asked to return the documents and no one did anything. Erich Holder also took documents related to "Fast and Furious" with him when he left and refused to return them when they were demanded of him. He was also cited for Contempt of Congress and walked away without consequences. The Political Class definitely is judged by different standards than the rest of the people and can essentially do whatever they wish with no consequences whatsoever.

 

Trump made a spectacle of this??? Seriously? CNN was notified in advance of the "raid."

 

Trump announced it first to get ahead of the narrative about to be launched by CNN and the FBI. He may well have been expecting it and was prepared. The conspiracists are claiming that stuff is now being manufactured to be used to justify the raid. I don't know....

 

There was no reason for any news outlet to be apprised of FBI dealings, especially in advance of the action. But this is a different world now so what do I know.

I still can't imagine why Trump didn't make good on his campaign claims to prosecute Hillary. So many missed opportunities with his term in office, especially in the first 2 years. I see no reason to believe another Trump presidency would be any different.

 

I can’t read minds but the possibility that D. Trump was attempting to keep things moderately peaceful might have been the reason for his broken promise.
The Dems were already up in arms abut him beating Hillary in the election so if he had added the icing on the cake and had her prosecuted, he might have figured that it would be overkill and bang on yet another hornet’s nest.

If indeed that was his thought process, he made a huge mistake.

 

Sorry Bobby, but Trump's personality is not such that he cares about disturbing a hornet's nest. I have to believe it was opposition from his own party that kept things from moving forward.

 

That’s another possibility and probably the right one.
