I looked at the pic and told myself that the 80’s wasn’t all that long ago and realized …..my gosh, that was 40 years ago!
I started this thread just as sort of a fanciful thing for a bit of fun but the more I peruse through some of the stuff I’m finding, it’s almost a wonder how we survived this long or maybe it’s because of some the old remedies that we Have lived this long. From Dr. Kidder’s electromagnetic machine that was supposed to be a near panacea to finding out that Castor Oil was used by the Egyptians for embalming to finding that a sure cure for a wart is to blow 9 times on it in the light of a full moon, it’s a world I really only touched upon in the past. I knew that old remedies was going to be a large world but I just didn’t know how large until I started looking into the past and waaayyyy past. Did ya’ll know that Castor Oil was also used to anoint kings and queens before they sat on the throne? (pun intended)
You can still make a willow bark tea that contains salicylate, but it must be made fresh as the analgesic breaks down on standing.
Okay, it isn’t a health ad but maybe someone bought something from one of those ads and had to heat it up on this….. On second thought, maybe it IS and old health ad. It’s not too healthy to put that fire starter next to a hot stove.
I noticed that too along with her blouse but then I said to myself, self……Maybe she’s a late 50’s gal with a 30’s stove and got dressed to meet her loving but cheap husband at the door.
