We are coming to the end of our stay in Sunny Queensland ,and will be heading home in 6 days time
We had a day out yesterday about 60 km from where we are staying ….

We know this area fairly well that we went to yesterday as we stayed in the area for a whole month each winter for 9 years, prior to Covid

This area is called Coolangatta ( QLD) and depending on what side of the Main Street your on in Coolangatta your either in New South Wales or QLD.

We visited the huge Returned Services League club, RSL called Twin Towns cause it sits right on the same border
with some of its club facilities being in QLD and some in NSW ….odd to say the least .

The border is marked by a different colour paver in-the street .
We used to dance regularly three times a week at this club prior to Covid
It was very quiet in the club yesterday so I took a few photos .

I’ve never seen it before in the 9 years we went to the area for a month during winter ….
@Cody Fousnaugh I’d say they have a resident pianist who comes and plays at times ..unless it’s for “show”

Yep it is ..right a cross the road from the club is the Main Street ….it has multi-storey sky scraper appartments
that over look the surfing beaches in the next street.

The Main Street away from the beach is fairly quiet at Coolangatta

Because it’s one of the tropical parts of Australia it’s never really cold there ,it’s still winter here till September but today it’s 27c ~ about 80f

30 km up the road ( north ) is Surfer’s paradise OMG that’s where most of of rich and famous sports stars live
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surfers_Paradise,_Queensland
That place is hectic ..especially this time of the year when many non English speaking tourists visit the area by the 1000’s for some religious thing they practice ..it full of people dressed in black with head scarfs

We had a”real” hamburger for lunch and it even had beetroot on it …now a hamburger without beetroot is NOT a real HB …IMO it was huge I had to give Hubs half of it the meat pattie was 3/4 inch thick

the beach shack the back section …overlooks the tweed river by twin towns
