on where this is all going.....every day more and more Negative comments come to us compliments of Washington D.C. The latest I'm thinking is the 87K IRS agents being hired to go after more citizens. Fear Fear Fear, so many say Civil War. That can't be the answer.... Who has something GOOD to OFFER here.
I feel somewhat secure in my little paradise, but I want to travel to see the kids and grandkids. I don't want to get caught "outside" (what Alaskans call the Lower 48). I don't think civil war will come here, as every Alaskan has what the anti-gunners call an "arsenal".
I was never really interested in hand guns until they wanted to take them away. Many people here have handguns as defense against bears or to finish a moose that is not quite dead. We live in a different world than you though.
I stay busy during the day piddling with my game making. It makes me tired and guaranteed to sleep well at night plus a good daytime nap. Lately I've found so much bad news related to people I cared deeply about decades ago I haven't had time to really digest it all. Life is always up and down but I never really thought I would still be living and just sitting around talking to myself, and the cats of course. One great thing I now have two confirmed ACE mice killers, the other cat hasn't earned the wings yet. There is never a shortage of field mice, why because I live in a field. This property was once a craw fish farm before it became civilized. We still have a lot of rain closing in on us over night but that in my book is a plus. I would much rather roll my pants legs up than die from heat exhaustion. Got a few things to do with two computers soon, I have to save up for a repair on one of my good computers. I lost two game sticks using a USB port so I suspect the person who sold the motherboard on eBay knew there was a problem with the board and that is why he sold it. It works perfectly fine but there is a problem when you plug something in on a USB port. So far I have been lucky and have not ruined the Dongle for my expensive Tank simulator I waited years to buy. I just leave it plugged into the same port from the beginning. I lost a portable disc drive, two joysticks, and one USB antenna. I checked all the voltages on the ports and they look good so something is rotten in denmark for sure. If I replaced the Motherboard with another used one it would cost as much as a new modern board which is far superior to the board that has the problem.. as I said the computer still functions as it should as far as running installed software. I will just bide my time and get another AMD motherboard and change it to the same identical system as the two new ones I built last year, prices are really dropping now for the same components I used for the two new computers. Now the second one to be repaired also has a USB problem because a mouse chewed insulation off a plug in power supply for my external hard drive. It did not hurt my hard drive but it did take out two USB ports on this machine I am now using. I have an identical board and all the hardware that has a very short time in use. I will just take it and install in in this computer and probably can fire it right up since the parts are exactly the same and all the drivers. There is a way to change major components if you want to keep your system intact and not reinstall the system. There are two registry entries you just reset and you do that to your hard drive before removing it and shutting down the computer before you make the board change. Then when it reboots it will do the hardware check just like it does on a new install. In my case I already have the drivers installed since there is nothing different about this other computer. Well tomorrow is another new day and maybe something good will happen instead of all the bad news. Personally I think we're all going to be in a soup line before long. We can't continue to allow so many foreigners in and spend our earnings to raise them , house them, feed them, healthcare etc etc. We are so deep in debt we will never be upright again. The youth of today will never own a house or possibly a car thanks to the idiocy of NO government.
I've not lived in this community very long, and I have a handful of people calling in on me to make sure I'm doing alright and have offered all sorts of of assistance. The government can go screw itself. This is all that matters to me. Well, these people and my critters. One of those friends is a 76 year old widow of something like 40 years. Her son has a good job in the DC area. He bought her a used SUV and a nice iPhone, which she promptly dropped in the toilet. He replaced it for her after issuing the proper admonishments. He sounds like a real good guy...I've not met him. Anyway, she works part-time at a friend's greenhouse and also volunteers at a local non-profit (which is run by another friend of mine who is pushing 80) that helps displaced folks get on their feet. Today she butt-dialed me 3 times with a FaceChat call. I picked up my phone and saw her laying on the couch staring at her phone with a confused look on her face. I shouted "Get up!" She replied "Who is that???" Three damned times. LOL!!!
Perhaps it should be in “Paranormal”? I believe every negative has a positive. Yeah, they’re hiring 87K more IRS agents but at least we know they’re there. They could have made a secret of it. Sure, the present Presidential administration is probably the worse thing to hit Washington, D.C. but the clock is ticking and the day of change is one less day away. Yep, the Ukraine / Russia war is still going on but McDonalds has reopened most of their stores in Ukraine and the kids can again have their happy meals after the bombings. To be sure, it’s too expensive to fill up the gas tanks on the rigs but less liquid weight means less wear on the tires. Along that same vein, since groceries are higher in price and so is gas, less trips to the store means less gas one has to buy. The less gas one has to buy, the more money one has to order from Amazon. After ordering from Amazon the less money one has therefore there are no worries about those new 87K IRS agents because one will be too broke to audit.
Positive Thought & Observation: There is a lot of beauty in this world to be seen, experienced and remembered. Example below in a botanic garden.
Joy, about the only time you will hear about positive things/thoughts are during Thanksgiving and Christmas. But, even during those two holidays, crime and all of that don't observe them. There is just so much going on today that is negative, from people with serious health issues and the cost of treatment to housing problems to all sorts of crime, it can be extremely hard to see the "positive" things today. But, I'm sure there are "positive" things out there.
♫ Hold the pickles Hole the lettuce Bombs and mayhem Don't upset us All we ask is That you let us Pocket your hryvnia¹ ♫ ¹The hryvnia or hryvnya has been the national currency of Ukraine since 2 September 1996. The hryvnia is subdivided into 100 kopiyok. It is named after a measure of weight used in medieval Kievan Rus.
Ya see Cody, the positive part to all of that is that yes, some people do have serious health issues but you are relatively healthy. If you did have a heavy health problem you have the VA and health insurance. Yes, there are some housing problems but you have a home and are considering going to a new home. Yup, there’s a lot of crime out there but no one has mugged you or broken into your home. A lot of people look at other folk’s negatives and make them their own when they should be thanking God that they are so blessed NOT to have those other people’s problems.
I always think of the old Abraham Lincoln saying that goes something like this. “Most people are about as happy as they make up their mind to be”, and I think that he is right. Some things are going to happen in our life that cause us to be sad, angry, or to grieve; but if we sit in the mud puddle and complain instead of getting back out of the mud puddle and going on with our life, then our whole attitude towards life will be negative. Years ago, I heard the story of the old man and the horse, and it made the point that we never know which things will work out for good or for bad. I found this video which is a short version of the story, and it makes the point very well, so I wanted to share it. It is only about one minute long and worth the time to listen and ponder the message.
I don't remember ever not seeing a gun in my life. Momma always had a 38 beside her on the car seat, or table. She lived on 100 acres alone with us 3 kids. I've seen people sneaking in to fish, escaped prisoners [ prison farm not too far]. Mama was known as the 'pistol packing blonde on redan road'. Hubbys was hunting at 6 with his father and uncles.
