How Many People, If Any, Start Their Own Plants?

One day a couple months ago it started raining and we were busy moving what plants we managed to save, and we enjoyed the coolness so much we just kept working. It was a pleasant experience.
I want to give some of our Aloe Vera and Peace Lily plants away they keep producing so why keep all these. I'm thinking of putting them on a table on the dirt road with sign "Free Plants".

 

We start our plants from seed mostly. But I do enjoy getting plants from Lowes, or other places already started, too. Had pretty good sucess from both ways. Been getting raise bed ready for fall planting for awhile now. My brother had came down to visit a couple months ago so we took him and his wife, fishing and he bought a bunch of worms, which we didn't use all of them that day so I put them in my worm farm and fed them a couple more months, then put them in raise bed and keep on feeding them. So far they're doing fine and bed is getting fertile for fall crops.

I have to go out now and take parts off Van, again. So it will be ready for new ones, be on again later.

 

Just be aware that you may be bringing other people's pests sand diseases into your garden area when you buy from an outside source. Welcome to the forum, @Jake Smith

 

Thanks Don, that's true, another reason I raised them a couple months in my own soil , made sure they were healthy before putting them into raise bed. Hopefully it will be ok.

, I could've, but figured everyone knew I walked them to the garden to release them.

I have a hobby farm. What do you need? Hopefully Halloween pumpkins cuz they are climbing over the fences and up the tomato cages.

 

That's great, you must have a green thumb.

 

I thought I did but this year it is being obliterated by critters and unbalanced soil. I should borrow some of your worms although I thought I had enough.

 

It's a never-ending task to stay on top of it, for sure. There're ways, though to deal with critters and soil. Just have to research and figure out the right solution and find the time too.

 

This year has been very odd. The critters causing the most trouble are birds! They are going after my fruit trees. Cherries I understand but pecking at all the apples. One or two pecks, move on the next... I ordered huge quantities of bush beans. Turns out they are pole beans which I hadn't set up for. What a tangled mess. Tomatoes are not producing the way they normally do. Next year will be a different set of problems. Eradicating thistles has been keeping me busy.

 

Sounds like you have had your hands full this year. What are thistles? Our pear tree had one pear pecked so far and I took it off early, and so far haven't seen any more pecking. Can you send the pole beans back for bush beans? Tomatoes can be tricky at times with different pests. Have you ever done hydroponics tomatoes?
