Where Do You Buy Poultry, Livestock

Our hens are now approaching 5 y.o. so its time to order some more. I want pullets but not sure what web site I can trust since I read some are sending old hens instead of the young pullets you ordered. Pullets cost a lot more because it saves you the work of caring for them as biddies. And believe me extra work is not what we need.
If I find them it will be the first time we started with pullets.

We have always ordered biddie from this site but we got roosters too and 10 at a time now we only want 4 hens. Thats more than plenty for us.They have to send 10 and roosters to keep them warm. We have bought from a few feed stores too.

Backyard chickens is a good site. I think we have to order pullets online.
Here is a site that sells pullets,we like the barred rocks they are docile and quite,they don't fight, lay nice brown medium to large eggs.

We ordered them from ideal Poultry out of Texas for a couple decades now, but only biddies never ask about pullets so not sure if they even sell those. Always very satisfied. have to buy at least 10 and about half are roosters. The roosters are barred rocks and really nice birds but we don't keep roosters. We give them away.

 

They are so cute to watch.

 

I hope I'm saying the righty word, but s biddie is a just hatched baby chicken that still needs heat at around 95F. They have to be kept under red lights if no mother hen is around.Those are biddies in that box you put up.

 

My relatives called them "peeps."
