Hi John, Thanks for the welcome. The last time I was in Norfolk was around 1951 when I was taking an advanced electronics course at the Naval Station. Met some nice girls there.
Thanks, Hedi. I already like it. The interface is excellent. Web site is very well designed. One feature I like is the ability to edit a post after it is posted. Looks like SO will be great for learning new things and exchanging ideas.
Hi Beth, Thanks for the welcome. The last time I was in Houston was a sad occasion. I had to take my wife to the MD Anderson Cancer Clinic. Unfortunately, things did not work out. The Love of my life died a few months later in a San Antonio hospital. On another subject, I read some of your posts a few days ago and wanted to reply but I had not yet joined SO. I will get around to finding one in particular that I wanted to reply to because I think it might be helpful. Take care, John
I don't get it Welcome to the board John!!! I live in Wisconsin where most are black and white haired.
Thank you John. I lived in Jacksonville from 1975 till 82. NAS is the backbone of that city. Moved back home to Atlanta area but always came back to Florida. Momma said I got sand in my shoes. My son was in the Navy also. But didn't stay just went in 1998 for education. He did real well almost went into Navy Hall of Fame.
Just a heads up, John...you have a limited amount of time to edit your posts (I think maybe 90 minutes, but don't quote me on that), then they are locked down. So review your stuff quickly and make any needed edits before it's too late.
like Ken said the politics is something else her.....Our town is infested by what's lovingly called flatlands (Myself am one because I came after a life in Massachusetts). these people want to bring to Maine everything that they had wherever they came from.....One who started a business in center of town thought traffic was able to get thru town too fast so he gathered like minded people and the town made it an exercise in futility to get thru town by narrowing the main street...He slowed traffic so much that he couldn't keep his business because people avoided the downtown. BTW Kennebunk is not the same town as Kennebunkport
It is possible that @Ken Anderson might extend the time limit for editing, now that no one is deleting all of their posts anymore, which is why he had to shorten it in the first place. Also, @John Houlihan , I am a greeter here, and if you need a post edited after it is past the time-limit; I am always glad to help out and edit it if you just message me that you need it taken care of.
