At least 10 people have been killed and at least 15 injured in a stabbing spree by two men in Canada. Not a common thing in Canada, but it goes to show you don't need guns to reek havoc, although these guys allegedly had access to guns but chose to use knives instead.
As guns become more controlled, knives come out. Of course, the average unarmed person is less likely to be able to effectively defend himself against a knife attack. Will we all have to practice our swordsmanship in order to have a chance of defending ourselves?
As a sexist thing to say, women will become more dependent upon men as defenders without firearms or some other type of "equalizer" as it was in the old days. The Elites seem to want to return to a feudal-type society, so maybe that will be a side effect, as it is very difficult for an individual woman to defend herself against an average male of the same age.
If the gun banners have their way, only those who are rich enough to be able to afford armed security and those who are powerful enough to be exempted from the laws that govern the rest of us will be able to defend themselves. That's the world that Democrats (and many Republicans) want. If it was about keeping Americans safe, we wouldn't be handing weapons out to be people all around the world while taking them away from regular Americans.
