Nothing to do with my thread here, but we are still "alive and very, very well" with all four Covid 19 shots and our upcoming #3 Covid 19 Booster and Senior High Dose Flu shots we will be getting. But, as far as the thread/online story goes..............just what do you think?
I think it's divisive and totally asinine. Like John said, no one I know of any color talks like a damn rap song. Why aren't they up in arms over "bitch" and "ho?" Are women forever taking a back seat now that anyone with a penis can be one?
Step aside, baby. Birthin' person comin' through. (Lord, we have lost our minds!) Regarding why "they are not up in arms..." Lots of us say that about lots of stuff. All of us "theys" may very well be (probably have been) up in arms about all sorts of stuff, but how is anyone else to know? Our lens to the world (the media) is corrupted. When was the last time you saw anyone who is sick of the corrupted Federal government and the "men can be women" and all the other lying leftist political garbage on the news? The normal majority never gets air time. Real America never sees the light of day.
I once tried to listen to some rap music just to show that I am open minded. After a few **** yo ho, *** yo bitch, etc. , I had to stop. My mind isn't that open.
If you cannot whistle or hum the tune and tell what it is, it's not music...it's rhythmic talking. Having a great rap voice is akin to having the perfect face for radio.
Sadly, I can remember when they wouldn't show Elvis's hips on the Ed Sullivan show. He was "indecent."
Well, he did cause young ladies to have indecent thoughts. I wonder if black women listen to that kind of rap.
I only like two rap songs. Mainly for the beat to get me energized. Neither has nasty lyrics. Like you , I don't like that kind of music.
<thestones>Let's spend the night some time together</thestones> I recall watching a vid of Starland Vocal Band singing "Afternoon Delight" to the Geritol set on Ed Sullivan. The audience politely clapped at the nice young children, clueless as to what they just listened to. "They must be going to a matinee."
Some words are disgusting regardless of who is saying them. MY viewpoint: if people want respect, they should start by respecting themselves, and to stop using gutter-level vocabulary would be a good start.
There is difference in nasty vulgar and some slang. I like the song 'I'm A Bitch' but most rap I don't like.
LOL. I just played one with B word in it today. Basically talking about a woman in a bad mood, nothing nasty or vulgar in it, Shirley, you may even like it if you listen to the lyrics.
