Every winter, the state puts up signs along the interstate near our exit warning people to watch for deer and eagles in the roadway. We have often laughed about that. But today, as we were nearing our exit, there was a dead deer on the shoulder of the road with a bald eagle perched on top of the body like any other vulture.

They should have placed a sign saying "Deer Crossing" so that the deer would know where to cross, and also drivers can watch out.

THis lady had the right idea.

Maybe this should be in the "Stupidest Generation" thread.

Ben Franklin knew that eagles are scavengers. Turkeys are not.

I always thought that eagles are mostly scavengers, 'cept for fish.
    I was wrong.

I have never seen a bald eagle attack anything other than a fish or a duck, but golden eagles are another matter. They often take lambs and such.

It's amazing. I gotta think that a small enough human would be at risk, spawning stories & legends.

I'm kind of skeptical about this video. But if it's for real, it looks more like something the eagle might do to defend a nearby nest.

That's an interesting point. So you think it was more defensive than hunting? If so, that was horrible timing on the goat's part.

Maybe someone put the goat there on purpose, to get a good shot of the reaction. I don't know. It gives me the creeps. Maybe it's the music. The comments below the video are not what I expected.

    Yup. Me either.

Keep in mind it was likely filmed somewhere in South America, given the narration.
