I love classical music. I was in high school band and brass choir. "Symphony Hall" is one of my XM presets. I've always liked Rossini. La Gazza Ladra and William Tell Overture are two of my favorites. But I get in my Russian moods as well...nothing like the heavy brass of Mussorgsky or Shostakovich. Of course, Miles Davis and Freddie Hubbard have their places as well.
Classical music was a part of my youth, both at home and in school. So, yes, I do like it very much. I don't know what is racist about it, but once again, this is just one more thing to deem racist. Very sick and tired of all this. So what? Some people are racist of all colors. It happens.
I grew up listening to music of my dad's era and to music my older siblings liked (Presley, The Fleetwoods, later on The Beach Boys, etc.) Classical was never on the play list. I mentioned elsewhere that my first exposure to classical was the music in Bugs Bunny cartoons. Then I played trumpet in school bands starting at age 9. The love of the music I picked up then has stayed with me to this day. Regarding it being "racist," I'm certain that Ken was being sarcastic.

I like classical music of various kinds. Country is my favorite..the older ones are better than the new age ones. I play music according to my mood. Rap and heavy metal..no. ZZ top is about as heavy as I get nowadays. Also some opera.
I've never liked country in any form. Bluegrass is as close as I'll get. Don't like rap. I have XM radio and every great once in a while I'll tune in to what I guess is called Headbanger music...guys with raspy demon-sounding voices and drummers who play a million miles an hour the entire song. I'll also tune in to Indie (independent) music, Samba/Brazilian jazz and standard jazz (although XM has greatly reduced their offering since I first subscribed.) When I initially got high-speed internet, I would listen to a Reggae station out of Kingston. Even though I grew up with what is now "classic rock," I never really cared all that much for The Stones, The Who, Skynyrd, etc. And for as long as I've listened to classical, I have never enjoyed opera. I can appreciate the musicianship of a well-trained voice, but I don't find it listenable. I've even taken a class on opera (from Mr.Cacciapalia), but it's not my cup of tea.
Even a redneck Jug Player would like Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" and "Prelude to Act III of Lohengrin"! Wagner composed some truly heavy, dramatic music and scored it for huge symphonic orchestras...as many as 130 musicians! Classical Music Buff Hal
Grand Canyon Suite: On the Trail - Ferde Grofé 1931 Performed by New York Philharmonic Orchestra - Leonard Bernstein Not sure this qualifies as classical. I like it. You'll probably recognize it. It was used in a cigarette commercial in the 1950s.
I have to display my ignorance here and ask for help in identifying this piece. I only have the brief recording. I have a feeling it's Mendelssohn or Rachmaninov but I just don't recall. It's something I need for my collection of classical music.
It's funny, I had to search for that. I don't always recall the titles, but I knew it was a sonata and the word "Moonlight" kept rattling around in my head. Others here would not have had to hunt as I did. It's a well-known piece.
