They can fire you because you left the window open. I does not have to be the real reason they want you out.
I just don't know. I've been told by my sons when they were little that I was old and now by my grandbabies. That's all after I told/tell them my age. On the other hand I've been told by adults that I don't look my age. So my thoughts are I won't tell my age to young people anymore AND continue to suck up all the compliments that I get.
It's no one's business but Your Business. Looking at your profile you appear pretty young in my books.
You know Mary, I really don't worry about the number. I do my best to age gracefully especially after I read 'Don't Sweat The Small Stuff.'
In many (most?) other cultures, asking someone their age is pretty much not done...it's rude & inappropriate. My British mother used to say "I'm as old as my tongue and younger than my teeth." I take it that is the polite retort to the question. I imagine there are other responses if that one don't work.
I wish I could say I understood want that meant but I don't. It would surely leave someone wondering as well. Hey did she say that to you when you were younger and asked how old she was? Just curious.
Heck, you should have heard the stuff her cockney friend used to say. Going "up the frog" meant "down the road." Regarding the tongue/teeth thing...you are born with your tongue but your teeth come along later; therefore, you are the same age as the former and younger than the latter. It's a smart-a$$ way of saying "nunya." The only age-thing I recall was when I was with my father at the G.C. Murphy store he managed. I was 9 or 10 years old, and one of the women who did back-office work asked the cute little kid to guess her age. I said "50." I can still see the look on her face. I think I was spot-on.
So you learn something everyday. It will be over my grandson's head but I'm going to try that on him ... and maybe not, because he has been keeping up with my birthday and hasn't asked me two maybe three years.
My first child was born when I was 65 years old. So age is not important unless less you are looking for permission to drive, smoke, buy booze, and other things that require you to be a certian age
Some believe this, but many others do not. Those that don't are the ones that simply can't do what they use to be able to do at a younger age.
