I kind of still believe that we can rebuild, like Bobby etc.
I leased out my last horse because even a nudge could've knocked me down from one leg. So I just sat for years. But I got to the point I could not put dishes back on the second cabinet shelf or get up without grabbing the headboard and pulling myself up to a sitting position. I said to myself, this is NOT happening and started working out with weights. I could not work my leg because of the pain but I used weights in all sorts of creative ways. The stomach muscles saved me. I used to have a stomach of iron and figured I could bring it back. Now there is plenty I can do. Yesterday I loaded two 40lb bags of salt into the softener and if the latest therapy I've found helps, I will do more. (Kind of glad they are not 50lbs anymore )
No, I can't do what I did in my fifties. But I am doing more than I did a few years ago.
Lots of people can't do, I understand that. Like I can't lift or push through my leg. Bad arthritis hurts, bad backs, injuries of all kinds to the point it prevents us from going back to our 20's.
But I was thinking about children's books I could write, or other books. Art I could create. Or even things I could learn
We can still DO. I don't want to, but I even have creative ways of cleaning the refrigerator.

Mary equine can be a challenge for us as we age, but I do miss our's.
Glad your able to start doing things again. I was thinking of getting more weights, I figure if 70 y.o. Earnistine can be world champ female weightlifter maybe I can life more than 25;b.s.
Maybe we could have a little SOC program here together?

Well, wife and I definitely know our "limitations" and follow them especially when our PCP's tell us the "ok" and "nope".

My wife had a girlfriend that had a hip replacement. Her surgeon told her what and what not she could do after the surgery. She is the "amazon" type lady and decided "I'll do what I want to". The new hip came out of the socket and she had to go back in for surgery to put it back in.

Don't have or know what a PCP is. I am fine with that.
I don't know my cholesterol, or triglicerides but I do know my sign is Aquarius.

Sorry, Mary, but "PCP" is used quite a bit in this forum. It stands for Primary Care Physician.

Wife and I get our blood labs done for our individual doctors and they discuss the results with us at an appointment. My cholesterol is somewhat to high, so I have to take a VA Medical 1-time a week prescription for it.

As far as you sign goes, I don't understand what that has to do with my reply??

Today my 12-year-old Inner Child convinced my 75-Years-Old-In-13-Days Outer Hag that it would be a hugely great idea to hike for an hour down to the bottom of a chasm without taking into consideration that the Outer Hag would have to walk back up again.

The Outer Hag is about half dead tonight, but is going to beat the living virtual $#!t out of the Inner Child as soon as she gets her strength back.

    It's a problem when both can't agree......

LOL so true that outer kid has almost killed me a few times. Its not the going that gets us Mary, its the stopping. I'll be doing just fine till I stop then realize I should have stopped long before I did. So out of breath and energy, I couldn't even scream for help.
