I tried SAM-e when it first arrived on t he scene, started with a low dose and it did nadda for me and later years I upped my dose and again NOTHING. I supposed it does help some, but getting thyroid supported is a major way to go. It's very overlooked.

The doctor world is sell sell sell pharma drugs, we have to learn to be our own docs and use all the tools at our fingertips on these computers. Thank goodness for the Dr. Mercola's of the world and RFK's Jr and so many others.

This subject is being talked about on another group along with the A/D Drugs. Many talked about about their parents and long years of depression. Now I wonder if any of you recall if your parents talked about thyroid .... Mine never did and the main thing they took was BP meds most of their lives.

I probably became aware of thyroid in my early 50's, and finally got on thyroid support at about 63/64 when I was battling clinical depression. So as I see it my issues flaired up at the menopause timeframe in my life and there is male/female "pause"....

My dad drank all his life and mom prayed...so I'm thinking they both needed thyroid support but back then no labs etc. The doc that put me on thyroid in 2002, was from old school and never did labs, they were not available, those ole docs went by symptoms.

Ask your doctor because the negative side effects include cancer and death when all you had was a rash.
