I had a similar thing happen with a neurologist I was working with when I got in an FDA Pilot Program for my herniated disc. He, too, moved on to be an administrator of a large hospital complex.

I guess we both got lucky to have such talent there when we needed it...although good for them/sucks for us.

Dr. Ueno called me from Tokyo while I was in treatment. I was struggling with the AC chemo ("red devil") and at a low point had told him I just couldn't do it anymore. He reduced the dosage, gave me a pep talk, and then had to be in Japan to present a paper so could not be there for my treatment that week. He called me the night I had the chemo to check on me and I will remember that for as long as I live. (Which is longer now thanks to that wonderful doctor.)

He was recently on Good Morning America; at about 1:50 in this video... https://www.goodmorningamerica.com/...Ygi6LPLnligyQ7eFhfU0oFTzxs62-2HX3YnWmLyOHpfqU

I thought this was kind of funny. I set my Fitbit to record a "walk" while following a Leslie Sansone 1-Mile Walking video. I never left the second story of the house but the GPS recorded my "route."

That is strange how a lot of top Drs. are moving on or suddenly retiring (thought that most held that job forever or as long as possible).
Losing a Cardiologist and an ENT early next year, lost an Infectious Disease Dr. last summer and two top notch Dentists in early and late last spring.

The University of Virginia Health System is losing a lot of GPs. Rumor has it that they are leaving that system for more money, but that's pure internet conjecture.

Do you know why your doctors are leaving?

A couple of years ago we had one of the Anderson cancer doctors move to our little town to semi retire. He started a cancer clinic so we don't have to go to the bigger city for treatment. I like it better as it is more personal and he had it set up state of the art. Top notch nurses joined him so that was a win win.

The Cardio moving on to a part time role on a board membership with his medical conglomerate,
the ENT & I.D. MD just retiring after long careers (which is a new thing?),
and the Dental Giants, well one is headed for the eastern beach's and the other prefers Arizona's climate.
    Guess they'll wear there smiles.

My friend that was a GP 'got fed up' and bought a used car dealership:eek:
Others have started concierge practices to get more like clinics of the 80's--away from the hospital over reach and insurances. I am for more of them cuz they are in bigger cities, not here.

Exciting morning. I was peeling carrots and managed to plug up the drain from the garbage disposal; I hate it when that happens. Had to pull all the stuff from under the sink and hubby had to remove the p-trap to unclog. We tried every method (plunger, wet/dry vac, etc.) but finally had to resort to plumbing.

I'm having those irritating muscle spasms/cramps all over my body again. I have to be careful when I yawn or I'll have a tear-inducing cramp in my jaw. My back also cramps easily if I reach a certain way; the muscle under my shoulderblade is particularly troublesome. Ugh.

Muscle spasms suck, especially in the face and jaw. I haven't had the courage for a good full yawn in over 20 years LOL! Have you tried the microwave seed heat pads on the spasms? That is my first line of defense.

I have a 6' very flexible snake for my kitchen sink drain should it clog. Also, I have a deep socket that fits the disposal so I can turn it from the top and unjam it. I haven't had any trouble since I switched to a higher rpm disposal a few years ago. The old Badger was always clogging up. The new smaller but more powerful Moen really puts the hurt on anything that gets in there including a dishrag that I had to fish out in several pieces with a special design wire hook hahaha!

I haven't tried heat on the spasms but I'm thinking of asking my doc for a muscle relaxer.

The disposal wasn't jammed; it was simply a plumbing clog of carrot residue in the pipe exiting the disposal. I have a big allen wrench that fits into the bottom of the disposal to use when the mechanism jams. It came with the disposal.

I am going to doctor next month about my cramps. So many things cause them. My meds could be one issue. My back wads up and it is heating pad time when that happens. I have been using my heavy duty massager first thing of morning, i think it helps.
