Voted in person at 10:00 am. No waiting. At 10 you miss the before work, after work, or lunch break people. There are 24 regular polling locations in the county, but only 5 places to do early voting (one week). Early voting here means long lines. Only one Saturday (all 5) and one Sunday (1) on the schedule. I don't understand why people would choose early voting unless they absolutely had to. It spoils it for those who have a hard time getting off work on election day. The instructions on an application for absentee ballot was confusing this time. If you didn't have a driver's license, you had to attach a copy of some other identification, and the list of what qualified as acceptable was on the internet. I wasn't taking any chances in getting it wrong. It's clear if you don't have a car, internet access, or a helper, it is harder to vote. Of course, if you don't have any of those things, you shouldn't be allowed to vote anyway, especially if you have a job, or two.
Well, Beto the professional loser loses again. I hope he and Stacey Abrams will finally ride off into the sunset and get lost.
That is what i am seeing, too. Kind of a repeat of what happened in 2020, at this point. Some states did really well, like Florida. Alabama did good , but we are a red state, so to be expected here pretty much.
No red wave. It was a manufactured pipe dream that failed to take reality into account. There was a good size wave in Florida that happened as the result of smart, tough leadership; however, the GOP as a whole, and Trump in particular, isn't all that smart. Issues matter more than egos. Edit Note: See Why the red tsunami seems to have hit only Florida
I don't think the pea-brain had a "platform." He was bought and sold by Soros, just like Abrams. Honestly, people compared that to John Kennedy; pathetic.
Nope; just a wading pool of the same wastewater. I'm glad Oz lost in PA but I thought that race was another "lesser evil" choice for PA voters. I will admit that I watched Fetterman's speech in the wee hours and I felt admiration for the man. He didn't seem impaired last night. I haven't checked the latest results this morning but from what I've seen so far it looks about the same as when I went to bed. I still don't understand the "Alaskan method" but it seems that Sarah Palin just took votes from the other Republican so they both lost again. (Their combined total was more than the incumbent Democrat so what the hell.) The races I had any interest in went the way I wanted (TX, FL and GA) so maybe I won't have to hear "Beto" or "Abrams" again for a long time. How much more money are the Democratic fund raisers going to waste on those two??? Good grief.
In most places, the Republicans didn't offer much other than that the Democrats are horrible. This may be true, but it's not a strong incentive to get out and vote.
Could they please take Terry McAuliffe and Charlie Crist with them? The Democrats should have learned this lesson way back in Adlai Stevenson days.
After hearing the victory speech of our governor last night, I listened to those of Republican governors in some nearby states that were on YouTube (DeSantis, Abott, Huckabee, and Ivey), just out of curiosity. Looks like the 2 women are the only ones who know how to give a gracious victory speech. The men never stop the divisive rhetoric and negative campaigning. What a wonderful way to start off a new term. Can't the men stop whining and give it a rest for just one day?
