Marie--I'm sure the walking helps, but PAD and peripheral neuropathy are not the same thing. PAD is peripheral artery disease caused by a narrowing of the arteries (venous system) and peripheral neuropathy is a degenerative condition of the nervous system. It is possible to have both at the same time, though. I hope the exercise will help you but sometimes it will make PAD symptoms worse (the muscles cramp due to the narrow arteries not delivering enough oxygen), so you also need to rest those muscles.

Thanks for clearing that up, I didn't know that, but which ever one it is it came from Diabetes.so it nerve damage I think the dr did say anything abouty it like its normal so par for the course with that ,but not always of course and thank goodness.
Bottom part of leg is numb so is foot, now it is starting on both legs and feet. So I'm walking, there is no cure or not one I want anyway, I do have appt for eye since vision is worse now too, seems its all doing downhill at once.

Diabetes often causes both, so you may have both. The numbness is likely neuropathy, though it can also cause a "burning" pain. Nerve pain SUCKS.

My husband has PAD and had to have a stent put in his groin on one side because that foot was getting cold... like icy cold to the touch, and he had terrible muscle cramps in that leg. His circulation on that leg was impaired and he still has issues with cramping if he walks too much.

One thing that helps open arteries is niacin. It has to be the kind that warns on the bottle that it may cause flushing , and cannot be the timed-release niacin.
If you take it on an empty stomach, you will definitely feel the flushing, but that is because the arteries are opening up and blood is coming into the tiny capillaries that have not been getting much until you took the niacin.
I take 250 mg of Swanson Niacinimide twice a day for my heart failure, because it helps make up for the loss of heart function. The more open the capillaries are, the easier my heart can pump blood into them.
I take my medications after I eat; because most medications and supplements will not be digested on an empty stomach, and can pass right on through your body, making them worthless.

Anyway I'll keep doing what I can and but thanks for the info and correction of the two.

I certainly don't know which you have; I was just saying that they are two different things. You might google the two and see which seems to be the symptoms you have. Like I said, it's possible to have both and both can be caused by diabetes. You should probably try to find a reputable endocrinologist to help diagnose the problem and get you on a treatment plan.

Also, if the neuropathy is caused by diabetes it is usually called "diabetic neuropathy" since there are other types/causes. Many people who have had chemotherapy developed PN as a result.

Please go check out Dr Berg on youtube. He explains how sugar and high carb diets cause the diabetic damages to vessels, kidneys and eyes. Try HIS healthy keto for a month, just to see. It is difficult but if it can help, go for it. You already have the veggies.;)
He has a lot of info on disease and what we eat being the cause.

Hey Beth, Just wanted to update on myo fascial release. This woman did not have enough openings in her schedual for me. Her therapy seemed to help but too long between appointments gave the extreme tightness in my leg the opportunity to keep coming back before more relief could be had.

Thanks Mary and your right I already started watching him this week. I'm getting too skinny, but I don't like meat, but I do eat it anyway on hald slice of bread once a day. I eat nuts and lots of onions in my salmon patties plus 4 eggs I mix in. So much going on I need to fertilize the garden, but I didn't make the compost, so I'll have to use the Jerry Baker one I guess.
    Amonia,
    Dish liquid,
    can of beer,
    can of soda,
I think that's all, but I will check it. Then it is diluted down a lot.

:p Salmon patties a few times a week, ice cream daily.I gave up everything else else not giving up ice cream too. It does have fat in it to help counter the carbs a little bit. But it still cost me a intense workout. I just ask myself do you want to do hard labor for that or not, no but I will if that's what it takes to enjoy my ice cream. I grind up p-nuts almond's and put them on top plus blueberries and baker's dark chocolate cocoa powder.

Can you tolerate the myofascial release? It can be very painful.
