You got it right, about us all having a tendency to judge others, before we know anything and us not even realizing we're doing it until the damage is done. We are all guilty of that, at one time or another, at least I know I am. To me, there's always a certain amount of fear involved even if it's short-lived, I find. But it's a good thing to think about what you're doing before you do it too, as you said. Mostly my point was about overthinking, which is the guilt, that comes with doubting yourself, when you're unsure of the situation, why it's happening, and whether you are the one, who's wrong about it, then reliving it in your mind as you're going on you're daily chores. It interferes with your everyday life, or it does mine. I agree, we humans are weird. I think Charlie and Lucy were great friends, and it was right for Charlie not to overthink it at that time.
Bobby we seemed to have gone from Charlie and Lucy to 'Spy vs Spy' and at times as mad as the magazine.
Ah yes, in my world it’s called “stinkin’ thinkin’” and so called because they fester in the brain. Some of those festers include the mental scenarios of “shoulda, coulda and woulda” all of which can last for hours….or days. Then there’s the “can’t never could or will”, which is when we realize the regrets that come with since we didn’t try, we won’t because we don’t.
That's what I do when I doubt myself, then sooner or later, I just move on, but that's what gets to me the most.
I hear you, Joanna, it can be difficult to accept at times. I always wonder if it doesn't bother those who say, that they don't care and that nothing bothers them. There're some people who are miserable themselves, and they will go out of their way to make others unhappy. There's a special place for them if they don't find a way to treat people, the way they want to be treated. Also, one more thing that comes to mind with what you said, is what my mother always told me, son kill them with kindness, it's the best revenge.
I wonder that, too- but sometimes it can be a matter of acting as if everything is ok because to say anything could result in ridicule, which to me is even worse than being "dissed" in the first place. I definitely agree with your second paragraph, too, and have an example I'll try to remember to include when I get to starting one of those diaries threads.
Sounds good, I will read it when you do, and I understand what you mean about being ridiculed after being dissed if you say something. I always try to figure out why they dissed me, for a while and sometimes things work out, and we start getting along again, then other times I just move on and never know why. I think it's that way with everyone.
Looking through this (interesting) thread again this morning, I remembered an incident when someone who worked for me came up one day and said "I don't like you." I said something like, "OK, it happens" and went on about my work (managing an international tech group). It didn't bother me at all as it was her problem and not mine. As long as she did her job well, I didn't care; however, telling your boss you don't like him or her may or may not be the smartest move; however, there are reasons why someone might. Having an employee not liking you and saying so suggests the employee has an issue and might need additional awareness and attention on your part.
