I have a couple of pairs of Skechers that I like, too. They are good shoes for what they are, and I find them comfortable for walking.
I'm still walking but did take a day off yesterday it was cold and misty but I did clean and work out inside.Today I hit the trail.
I must have been unlucky to get the faulty ones cause mine that I’d paid over $100 for ( slip on type shoes ) frayed where they were joined to the soles ( had 2 pairs both went the same)
The slip-ons are not made for serious walking. I only use the slip-ons I have on the treadmill, as I find it easier to get them on but I don't wear them out side. My "Outdoor" Skechers are laced and are water repellent/waterproof. They also have quite a thick sole.
Just got back from walk, it was late but glad I went. Got my second breath and feel better now not so tired. @Faye Fox thanks for the thread but where are you? Hope your well.
Time for the walk. Some says I have to push myself really hard to go, then I think about the benefits, that's as long as the only thing timbering is the forest of course. I learned not to lean back too far looking or backwards I go.
I just went for walk a few minutes ago, and noticed the moon is almost full. Had a spider web across the face but that's par for the course at times. I have to step high so as not to tangle in debris or vines on the trail. And watch for holes wildlife digs which is hard to see at times with vision problem.
Although I like it out here in the woods most of the time, I'd love to be able to walk to a cafe and have a cup of coffee.
The more I read here the more I know I need a walking stick. I also dance a lot in the living room to music but now my hip is acting up when I bend down it wants to go out coming back up!
Yeah, walking sticks are nice to have. Even when I don't need to depend on them, I enjoy carrying a stick.
I have a stick I found on the trail and I use it much of the time but not sure it wouldn't break when I really need it.My balance isn't what it use to be but then nothing is.
I did 2 Km walk yesterday but I “paid for it” in a big way last night my knee I had a Arthroscopy on to repair a 1 inch tear as well as a bit of cartilage stuck under my knee cap 19 days ago …..I felt 100% walking but I (we) walked up a couple of reasonably steep hills and that’s sorta hurt my knee So I’ll have to put the walking in the back burner for a little while ….I hate feeling unfit and out of breath cause of lack of fitness ..that how I’m sorta feeling now….so I just went out the back got the battery blower out to get rid of dust an dirt around the back door …then got the broom and a bucket of soapy water and washed the two windows and sliding glass door and hosed the soap off as well as squirting the concrete
