Do you remember that day? I do.

The Kennedy clan have had their losses. I still see my tv news in my mind of Bobby's death at the Ambassador Hotel.

    What a history this family...

Yes I do. Sent home from school for vomiting all over the gym and my shoes. Lying on the couch ,watching ch 8 on black and white tv. News flash ,and reporter came on a stage, hands shaking he read that Kennedy had been shot. A knock at the door, female neighbor came in crying. After that deemed like all hack broke out . I was 15.

My dad was, and continued to be, a lifelong Republican, but he voted for JFK.

I was 14, my long time friend said he I and some others were out in the street tossing a football. Then we went inside to watch what they had on TV. The 'adult' talk @ the time led me too beieve it not 'unexpected' given his track record.

Not to be crass but ... I never was a fan of the Kennedy clan ... exception being [perhaps] his son & daughter.

Senior in high school. In a yearbook committee meeting. My cousin came in and told us. Then went to Government class. The last class of the day. We just sat there the whole period and waited for updates over the intercom. They announced he had died before we left for the day.

There's a huge Cult of Personality running through the citizenry when it comes to our politicians. People gushed over his wife while turning their backs on his infidelities. Friggin' "Camelot" my butt.

Agreed, and I never did see anything 'beautiful' or charming about her. Frankly, whenever she was one-on-one with a reporter she always came off [imo] as an air-head ?

I remember that day very well. At the time, I was a grad student at Stanford University walking to my next class. Along the way, somebody shouted out the news and everybody around me was totally shocked. In the following days, the media covered almost nothing else and the whole country seemed enter a deep depression.

In those days, people of big repute were protected against bad press. It was just the time we lived in. Now we know everything.
