I've been at 2 restaurants in a small Kentucky town. One was a McDonald's and the booth I sat at had ketchup smeared on the wall. When I went back several months later I sat at the same booth just to see if the ketchup had been removed. Nope...still there!

The other restaurant was a sports bar and my husband and I decided to eat a quick meal at the bar. While we were waiting for our food a cockroach scurried past our drinks. The bartender caught and killed it like it was just a normal part of his day. We could barely eat our sandwiches after that. The restaurant went out of business not too long after that.

You'd think I'd be turned off of restaurants, but no, I still like to eat out! Glutton for punishment, I guess.
    (No pun intended!)

Noy trying to get in-between you two, but Bobby I use to visit a restaurant bar in Ft. Lauderdale that the theme was peanuts shells all over the floor. All tables had a big basket of peanuts on them, and you just threw your shells on the floor, it was kind of neat to be messy. The clientele there was not shabby either and the place was always busy.

    No need to worry Marie.
Opinions are just opinions and one is no better than the other especially when dealing with public places like restaurants.

To me, as long as whatever goes on in the front of the house is legal and doesn’t reach food service or preparation areas, I’m good.
If a certain ambiance of a restaurant doesn’t appeal to enough of the public to warrant it staying open then it will close.
Personally, I wouldn’t go into a place with a mechanical bull but that doesn’t mean that my opinion will stop people from going to one.

Again, as long as the food and drink preparation and service areas meet with or are better than the health codes, it’s all good.

Going into a sports bar that serves peanuts and peanut shells are thrown all over the floor, it a whole lot different that going into an upscale steakhouse restaurant and observing pieces of food on the floor. That food either wasn't picked up by the bus person cleaning the table or put their by a bus person cleaning the table without a bus pan.

And more fun, huh? It's not like you can shuffle thru p-nut shells while going to your table or booth that often.

For heaven’s sake Cody. Don’t go back if it bothered you that much. Easy.

Not that I like seeing bugs anywhere, but if you only knew what you were really eating, you would not even eat at home. Luckily ,we rarely eat out so we just take our risks at home. No yelling whinny kids, sulking teenagers, or parents who bring their problems to the table. :D

Really, really, really wish some restaurants would wipe off a table and put crumbs in a bussing tub and not on the floor! It makes a restaurant look so dirty/filthy when there are crumbs on the floors. Hate to see what some kitchens look like inside.
And, what can even bother us more is that it seems like we are the only ones that complain about this problem. It really makes me wonder what some people's homes look like inside.

Generally posted at or near the cashiers desk are documents displayed that give a health score or grade.
Health inspectors are known to inspect at random times and even during peak business times in order to see how the employees handle food products.

Look at the grade or score and wonder no more.

Do Note: In my life in the Food and Beverage industry, I have NEVER seen a health inspector give a perfect score no matter how clean a place is or how accurately the food is handled.
Even if a grade is an A, there will be something written in the explanation area for the management and employees to pay attention to before the next inspection.
