This is a pretty good video, with useful ideas for getting stuff done rather than putting it off. Interestingly, to me, the basis behind this corresponds to the SMART Recovery program that I facilitate. This one is similar.
I know the first method works for me from experience. I've stumbled onto a version of the second, by accident, simply by reducing goals to just one per day, and ending up doing more than one. The main thing was just getting started. I never thought of trying for just 2 minutes of time instead. I bet that would be even better. I'm going to try that. Maybe this afternoon.
thank you, for that info. some swear by tactile (muscle) feedback but i'm in agreement with you. whatever works, i guess.
i am supposed to be making flash cards...putting info about the garden veggies we will be growing...Lord help me if the web goes down...i have started the process... also making placards for wild edibles we've managed to identify...use and propigate...those will be in oil marker covered in uv clear tape...placed near each patch... i could be doing that now...but...no...i m in here talking about it...
I have never been a procrastinator. I like getting things done and off my mind. I think one of the reasons was being an only child, raised on a cattle ranch, and having assigned chores and jobs. Then being single for so many years, it never made sense to put off what had to be done since no one else was on deck to do it. I think my getting up early and doing my workout first thing, emptying the dishwasher, eating breakfast, and on laundry days, starting on it, makes other jobs easier to get done later during the day.
Compare for instance the Amish way of living and doing things. The children grow up , boys and girls, men and women, knowing all their lives how to do all the various chores, games, cooking, hunting (if they do such), gardening, farming, horse-raising (even a heavy horse, haha!) , best food and etc most people can ever find or experience. They don't 'set' a goal it seems... just wake up, pray if the pray, get dressed and get to work. After one thing is done, do the next. Everything gets done in time, without quareeling , every day. The results are remarkable and used to be better known nationwide, before 'modernization' and such....
I find that when I am a co-worker with someone who is very helpful, everything is better and easier, and sometimes the time just flies by.
