First, one of our favorite Christmas movies is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. And, our favorite Christmas Stage Performances are: The Glory of Christmas (that we seen twice at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, CA) and have a DVD of that performance. It has live animals and "live" flying Angels. We watch this DVD every year before Christmas. For us, it's a Christmas tradition. And, seeing the Rockettes in Denver, CO for their Holiday/Christmas Spectacular, back in 2005, was great.

Last night watched Tis The Season: The Holidays On Screen on CNN about all the Christmas movies and tv shows/Specials dealing with Christmas from many, many years ago and up to now. I never/ever knew there were that many Christmas movies, Specials and regular tv shows dealing with Christmas.

A movie about a young lady who came out at Christmas and announced to her family that she was gay/lesbian and introduced her partner to her parents. Her mother was played by actress Mary Steenburgen.

An episode of All In The Family where a family friend is a Draft dodger, who moved to Canada, was invited to the family Christmas dinner. He was being highly ridiculed by Archie Bunker, until a friend of Archie's stepped in and straightened things out.

This CNN Special showed a couple of segments of the Bob Hope USO Christmas Specials in Vietnam. This Special also discussed (some) of the emotional/personal feelings of those that have nobody at Christmas. That was me for a number of years, but I survived.
A very highly interesting CNN Tis The Season: The Holidays On Screen!

Then we watched a Hallmark Christmas movie, titled A Holiday Spectacular. It starred Eve Plumb (Brady Bunch fame) and Ann Margaret. The movie took place in modern day as well as in 1958. Ann Margaret is coaxing a young girl to become a Rockette and explains how she became one in 1958 and performed in the Christmas Spectacular in New York. It was an excellent made-for-tv movie!
Like already stated, we went to the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular in downtown Denver, when we lived in Colorado before. It was a fabulous show of dancing and a "live" Nativity Scene onstage. We bought a Christmas ornament of the Rockettes.

    So, what's your favorite?

Starting to wonder how many in the forum have me on "Ignore"? Either that, or there are more interesting threads on the forum than mine. Perhaps my popularity has really taken a dip since joining this forum in 2015.

I'll just wait around for awhile and see what happens, then, after that, who knows.

    I like you, Cody.

My favorite Christmas show is, "A Charlie Brown Christmas."

It was Charlie Brown's Christmas until I met and married Johnny and we watched Bruce Willis in Die Hard on Christmas Day. It became a tradition for us. We would always see something we hadn't before.

I've seen The Nutcracker Ballet performed at the Kennedy Center in DC a few times. Live performances are the best. I don't know why I so rarely attend.

As far as Christmas movies are concerned, I'm old school:

-A Christmas Carol (1951 version with Alastair Sim)
    -It's A Wonderful Life
    -Christmas Story

ps: I've had new threads take a day or two (or longer) to get replies. There are threads here that have only received 1, 2 or even 0 replies, and some of them are years old. As I once told a struggling doctor, "You need more patients."

I believe this was first sung in Holiday Inn, but was made famous in White Christmas. I love this song. Danny Kaye was well-respected as having perfect pitch. What a talented man.
