Not that many… Every place I visited was somehow work related, except for Denmark. I had met a Danish gal and, while on an extended work related trip, took an additional week to spend in Denmark to meet her family and some friends. Norway Switzerland Germany Denmark Canada I was in France for a couple hours for a dinner. The only islands I recall visiting would be the Florida Keys, also work related. That’s it.
Furthest I've been from England is Wales and Scotland . Never really had the yearning for going 'abroad'.
Visited most of the states in Southern USA and Hawaii. Have always wanted to visit Italy and Israel... Maybe someday..
Canada, Mexico (over border ), UK, Iceland (briefly), Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, Holland, Greece, Spain, Belgium (briefly) The longest was in Holland and Athens. I am envious of those who have traveled elsewhere. Always wanted to see South America, Israel, Italy, maybe Australia. TOO FAR.
My son has been to many. he said out of all them Norway was the cleanest nation he had ever visited of the Scandinavian's, Senegal the most dangerous and primitive. I've never left America. My daughters have visited some vacation resorts.
Norway was incredible. On my return flight, I was sitting next to a woman and we were discussing our visit. She told me she had been many times but that this would be her last flight back home. I told her I was sorry to hear that. She told me I misunderstood, that her next flight to Norway would be her last because she was permanently relocating.
When I was working in one lab, my boss had been to Europe many times. He told me on a couple occasions that I would be happier living in Europe. I didn’t appreciate his perception until I had visited and did feel very drawn to the lifestyles where I visited.
Been to every state in Australia including Tasmania …. thats it however I had never been outside the very isolated town in New South Wales where I was born until I was 25 years old mainly due to closest town was 3 - 4 hours drive away ..or the closest city (Adelaide) was/ is 6 hours drive away.
I have been to Staten Island, Long Island, Glouchester Island, Washington Island, Martha's Vineyard... Outside of the US I have been to the Bahamas, Canada, England, France and in the good old days, Tijuana. Actually all were long ago. My favorite place was Glouchester, as a teen. But visiting it more recently I was horrified to see how it had developed from a pleasant, quaint, slow vacation spot to the crowded place for rich people to put vacation homes.
I just want to update this post. In May of this year, I traveled to the UK and Switzerland. Plus, I will be traveling to Hong Kong in December. The list is still growing!
