After hearing the story she told the first minute of this video of her jealous crazy hubby, I'd think twice about this dance request, Talk about nostalgia,
Back to the early teens ,so many fun teen dances, friend's and nice music, Life was good. My nick name ' Judy '
The good old, old, old, days I never danced or went to a roller ring but I played these old songs till I wore the records out. Thanks for remembering them.
Thinking about it I did a little roller skating in the street until I built a scooter with my skates.
Me too, did your skates have a key? I vaguely remember my skate key. Fun times either way be board, roller or whatever, huh?
Yes they did have a key to tighten them up, they're all metal and fit over your shoes. Growing up in Brooklyn I don't even think we had a roller ring near us, so the streets were our playground. I didn't participate but I remember the Kids on the Block who were better skaters than I doing the whip. They would form a line and skate in a circle faster and faster and eventually the last guy in line would release and fly down the street.
Oh yes I remember the whip done by both rink and street skaters, up till 13 most of my time on skates were limited to visiting the city where there were sidewalks and rinks. Up till then it was games rural area kids played. I don't think most kids today have ever even seen a pair of street skates.
